The last Superb ike win, his careerrecord 23rd, was in Brainerd in July of
2000. The 35-year-old French Canadian leaves Wisconsin, after a round
of golf on Monday, with 25 wins.
Both days were dominated by the
same quartet of riders: DlJJiamel,
teammate Nicky Hayden, Kawasaki's
Eric Bostrom, and Blimpie/Yoshimura Suzuki's Aaron Yates.
On Saturday, the order was
DuHamel, Bostrom, Yates, Hayden with first to fourth covered by less than
half a second. DuHamel led the final
lap all the way, with Hayden slipping
from second to fourth after encountering trouble in the final corner.
On Sunday, DuHamel beat Hayden
by a scant 0.0069 of a second after
passing him in turn five on the final
lap, with Bostrom third, 2.2 seconds
back, and a 10th in front of Yates.

fi decisively ended a nearly twoyear Superb ike win drought, winning
the first race at Road America on Saturday, then backing it up with another
victory on Sunday to sweep the
AMA/Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike
doubleheader before a weekend crowd
of 50,000 in Wisconsin.
Asked, after Saturday's win, if he
ever thought about giving up,
DuHamel joked, "This morning, I
almost didn't come to the track, but I
said, '\'11 give it one more shot.' I
believe in myself quite a lot and 1
believe in my team also," DuHamel
said, giving full credit to his crew, led
by crew chief Al Ludington, with
whom he was reunited this season. "I
knew it was going to come. It's a hell
of a time to have a beggar's winner.
You've got to go out there and win it
