placed machines. Also, Atlanta's Buff Harsh also enjoyed two wins, taking the Vintage One and Vintage Two class wins by big margins. In the first race, both Garland and Harsh recorded their first victories of the day, as their classes ran combined in the same race. Garland pulled the holeshot in Formula 500cc and never looked back. Quick Bikes' Matt Pasquerilla could only watch as the leader pulled away, and he had to settle for second, over Garland's son Paul in third. Harsh likewise took the quick lead in Vintage One, but a determined Eric Cook from Team Steve-a's hung with the leader for about half of the 10-lap sprint. However, like Garland, the current Vintage One champ eventually pulled away for the win. Another Team Steve-a's pilot, Mike Schulte, grabbed third. In the second race, Vintage Two was the one to watch. D&D Cycles' 500cc Triumph rider Tim Joyce, fresh off his upset win over Harsh at the WERA Vintage opener in Savannah in March, lined up on the pole, with Harsh alongside. It was hardly close, though, as Harsh jumped to the front on his powerful Todd Henning 350cc Honda and again never let up, taking a convincing win over Joyce. "I had to win this one," Harsh explained. "I couldn't let Tim get three wins on me." Ulbum, Georgia's Bernard Hensler took his fast RZ350 Yamaha to the win in Formula Two-Stroke, over Joe Pomeroy and Mark Williams. In the Vintage Four contest, Mark Nadelkov, on the WKR Yamaha 750, pulled a giant holeshot from the rear of the grid to lead the entire field into turn one. Nadelkov built a slight lead over William Harding, but Harding's nimble SRX600 Yamaha was reeling in the bigger machine. By lap two, Harding got around Nadelkov at the end of the back stretch in the first carousel. Pushing hard into the second bowl, Nadelkov lost the front end and went down and out of the race. Harding continued to lead until lap six, when he pulled off with mechanical problems. Michael Hodgson took over the lead on his MKC Enterprises Honda 750 and held it for the win, over Royce Eaton's Daytona Cycle Salvage Ducati and Steven Minning's BMW. Jon Jarvais smoked the huge Vintage Five field as he took the point from the start and drove his Pirelli/Pit Bull·sponsored Kawasaki EX500 to the f1ag-to-flag victory. Lake Hill Yamaha 600cc rider Jim Johnson handled second, and Harold Page Jr., on the Barnacle Bill's Leathers FZ750 Yamaha, had to work his way up from the rear to snag third. Joyce was back on familiar ground as he took the Vintage Three win on his 750cc Triumph, over fellow Floridians Nadelkov and Minning. In the last race on Saturday, Garland recorded his second runaway victory in Formula RD. This time his u.s.
