He will face Paul Gast, who took out number-one plate holder Todd Doege in the semis, 7.09 to 7.] 3. In the Formula Superbike Class Jim Carroll, who is undefeated this year on the Kawasaki ZX-12R owned by Chip Elhs and Coby Adams, kept the streak alive with a number-one qualifying effort of 8.] 0 at 162 mph and an unchallenged march to the final round. Carroll will face the Muzzy ZX-] 2R ridden by Ryan Schnitz, who got past the Hayabusa of Del Flores in the semifinals. The Streetbike Shootout class only got as far as the semifinals. When racing resumes at Norwalk, the factory bikes of Kent Stotz (Honda CBR 1] OOXX) and Rickey Gadson (Kawasaki ZX-12R) will face off in a rematch of the Atlanta final, won by Stotz. Stotz will be seeking his third win of the year. On the other side of the ladder, Alphonso Thompson will take on James "Duck" Lauer. Gadson was the number-one qualifier in the class with a 7.79 at 184 mph on the Muzzy Turbo ZX-12R. Zero Gravity 600 SuperSport Class made it to the quarterfinals. Defending Champion Ryan Schnitz on the Team Green ZX-6R continues his dominating ways with a number-one qualifying effort of 9.82] at 135 mph. Fellow Team Green rider Chip Hunter was right behind him with a 9.825 at 137 mph. Schnitz and Hunter are on the same side of the ladder, which means that jf they both win their quarterfinal matches (Schnitz with Bobby Terry and Hunter with Chad Millholland) they will meet each other in the semifinal. On the other side of the ladder, Eddie Kraweic will face Keith Thompson. The winner will have a bye into the final. In Hot Rod Cruiser, Yamaha Road Star Warriors have taken over the performance advantage over the once-dominant Harley-Davidsons. The bike in the spotlight is the Patrick Racing Warrior ridden by Mark Underwood and owned by Nigel Patrick. The bike was delivered via crate to the track on Friday, and on it's first lap down the track, Underwood uncorked a 9.978 at ]31 mph the quickest pass ever for the class. But it wasn't over. Underwood hit a 9.88 in the first round against Debbie Knebel and a 9.868 in the quarterfinals against the Orient Express Yamaha of Scott Pitas. Underwood will have a semifinal bye when racing resumes. The other side of the ladder will be a battle of HD-riding teammates with Rick McWaters, who won the first two events this season, taking on engine builder Terry Reed.
