pack for about three laps. Then
Rimes, who is still recovering from
an injury, started to fall off the pace,
and Javier Coso, Charlie Lugo and
Downs all moved up a notch. Ken
Flanagan was also in the mix after
shortly banging bars with the rest of
the pack. One by one, Downs started passing riders, including
Monjaras, looking back over his
shoulder at him while jumping
