Podium One Gold Series Round 3: Podium One Motoplex Craven, Gessner Craven and Brandon Nichols, on a Zing Graphics/F&S Suzuki. Craven took the lead on the first lap and Adam Robinson moved into second prace on a Pro Action/Cater Yamaha, in front of Kinnemeyer, Nichols, and Husqvarna rider Chris Brown. Both Brown and KTM-mounted Keith Grant passed Nichols on the second lap, and the running order stayed the same from there. Jason Mudd took the holeshot in the second moto on a Podium One Honda, in front of Craven and Kinnemeyer. Craven took the lead on the first lap, in front of Kinnemeyer and Robinson, followed by Nichols and Brown. Robinson passed Kinnemeyer on the next lap for second place, and the running order stayed the same until Grant got by Brown on the last lap for fifth place. Craven took the overall, in front of Robinson and Kinnemeyer, followed by Grant (4-5) and Nichols (6-4). Larry "Sluggo" Gessner had a great day on his Cycle Shed KTM, taking all four moto wins in the Over 25 A and Over 30 A classes. KTM rider John Dixon nailed the holeshot in both Over 25 A motos, in front of Gessner and Schmidt. Gessner took the lead on the first lap in the first moto, in front of Marshall and Cory Stevens, on an S&S Marina Suzuki, followed by Schmidt and Dixon. Schmidt passed Stevens on the next lap and the running order stayed the same from there. Gessner took the lead on the first lap again in the second moto, but Dixon held on to second place, in front of Marshall, Schmidt and Stevens. Marshall and Schmidt both passed Dixon on the next lap, and Schmidt made the pass on Marshall for second place on lap three for the final running order. Gessner got the overall, and Schmidt (3-2) claimed second place, in front of Marshall (2-3). Dixon (5-4) took fourth and Stevens (4-5) finished fifth. Dixon nailed the holeshot again in both Over 30 A motos, in front of Gessner and Marshall. Gessner moved into the lead on the first lap of the first moto, in front of Marshall and Dixon, followed by Bobby Hall, on a Hill's 4X4/Hoosier Hilltoppers Yamaha, and Honda rider Rick Drake. Then Drake pas5ed Hall on the next lap for the final running order. Gessner took the lead on the first lap again in the second moto, in front of Dixon and Marshall. Hall held fourth place, with Suzuki jockey Troy Karsner in fifth. Marshall passed Dixon on the next lap for the final change in the top five. Gessner took the overall, in front of Marshall and Dixon, followed by Hall and Drake. Jeff Jennings had a great day on his Suspension Plus/Dreyer Suzuki, taking the overall and three out of four moto wins in the 125cc Band 125cc Youth classes. Grant took second in the 125cc B class with a 4-2 finish, in front Brown's 3-4 score, followed by Suzuki pilot Chad Canter and Michael Akaydin, on a Scott Hall Racing Kawasaki. Jennings took both wins in the 125cc Youth class, in front of Canter, and Brandon Miller (4-4) finished third, on a Paul's Cycle/Max Pitts Yamaha. Ricky Top Podium BY MARK BUCHANAN CHARLESTOWN, IN, APR. 6 cott Craven dominated the 250cc A, 125cc A and 16-24 classes, taking all six moto wins on his White Brothers/Suspension Works Yamahas. More than 250 riders showed up for Podium One's third race of the season in Charlestown, S Indiana. The weather was good for the first week of April in Indiana, with sunny skies and cool and Windy conditions. The Podium One crew had the track in excellent shape again for a day of great racing action. Attendance was down in the A classes, with the St. Louis Supercross being held the same day, and Jason Schmidt took the holeshot on an S&S 56 MAY 15, 2002' c u e I e Powersports KTM, in front of Craven, in the first 250cc A moto. Craven quickly took the lead on the first lap for the win, with Schmidt finishing a close second. Craven took the holeshot in the second moto and went wire to wire for the win, in front of Schmidt. Craven took the holeshot in the first 125cc A moto, in front of Yamaha-mounted Rod Marshall and John Kinnemeyer, on a MotoXtremes Husqvarna, and the running order stayed the same throughout. Marshall nailed the holeshot in the second moto, but Craven quickly moved into the lead for the win, in front of Marshall and Kinnemeyer again. Kinnemeyer took the holeshot in the first 16-24 moto, in front of n _ _ :s Podium One Motoplex: Lany "Sluggo" Gessner took all four moto wins in the Over 25 A and Over 30 A classes at the third round of the Podium One Gold series in Charlestown, Indiana.
