take the win by more than nine minutes. "I had a big lead going, so on the second-to-Iast lap, I stopped at a checkpoint and had a soda with some of my friends while they marked fender cards," said Esposito. "I took a little break, then just rode hard to the finish." McCoy entered the motocross section with Key right on his fender. "I didn't really know he was back there till we got into town," McCoy admitted. On adjusted time, local Virginia City resident McCoy had a 30-second lead due to his third-row starting position. Brothers Kevin and Darrol Brown, both Vet Pro riders, battled closely all day long, finishing side by side to take fourth and fifth, respectively. Darrol had the lead for most of the day, but they were never more than a few feet apart. "Kevin passed me on the fourth lap and I just couldn't get by him," Darrel said. "We had a great race all day, and the track was fun. VCMC did a great job." eN The Grand Prix at Virginia City Virginia City, Nevada Resulls: April 27-28, 2002 Saturday O/A: 1. Robert Webb (Hon); 2.
