Dade City Raceway: Ricky Renner, on his way to the second Supermini moto win and the overall class victory at the second round of the fourth annual Florida Motocross Series, In Dade City, Florida. Mulleavey joined the rear end of the group. Usuga finally pulled out for third. Tiffany held off Pedrero, until Pedrero slid out and Mulleavey moved up into the fifth spot. The order was now set. Renner had something for Meeks in the second moto. Renner pulled the holeshot and powered the Yamaha out front for the entire moto. Meeks held second, but it was his turn to feel the roost, from Renner. The two pulled away again and finished in that order. There was another scrap for third. Tiffany held the spot, followed by Usuga, Mulleavey, Pedrero and Matt Lee. Usuga and Mulleavey made their way around Tiffany for third and fourth, respectively. Tiffany finished fifth. Jimmy Warren won the first Supermini moto. Meeks finished second, and Renner came home in third. Marcelo Goday, the 85cc (7-11) winner, finished fourth, and Marisa Hampshire rounded out the top five. Renner put on the superchargers and won the second moto, over Meeks and Warren. Goday finished fourth again, and Pedrero filled out the top five. Tristan Foster led the 50cc OilInjected class down the front straight. Kody Ketchum would have none of that and took over the lead for good. Michael Miller started fourth and passed Foster for second. Chris Sullivan put his Husky in fourth, and Brinsley Dyess took fifth. The second moto was all Ketchum's, as he lapped up to fourth. Foster started second, and Miller charged through the pack after a bad start. Miller passed Foster on the last lap for second. Sullivan took fourth, and Tyler Oliver beat out Dyess for the fifth spot. The 250cc Beginner class had an exciting first moto. Nevin McLeran led the field until dropping back in 58 MAY 15. 2002· cue I • the pack on the first lap. Robert Yoho took over as Jeremy Cox, Don Besnier, Anthony Matuschewsky and Thomas Darcy followed. Besnier moved into second, ahead of Cox, as the two put the pressure on Yoho for the lead. The two got into first and second, and Yoho fell off before the whoops while riding third. Besnier passed Cox for the lead over the big tabletop coming out of the back section. Matuschewsky passed the tired Cox for second on the last lap. Darcy finished fourth, and Yoho made it back to fifth. Besnier did not mess around in the second moto; he grabbed the holeshot and slowly pulled away to take the win. McLeran swapped places with Yoho a couple of times but came out with second. Matuschewsky came up through the pack to place fourth, and Cox finished fifth. Edward Higgins charged from a sixth-place start in the first Over 35 moto to take the win, while Tony Gallardy fought off Richard Rohn for second at the end. Steve Stojack came out of the top 10 to finish fourth. John Coleman also suffered from a bad start but made it up to the fifth spot. In the second moto, Gallardy, Stojack and Higgins battled for the top spot. Higgins finally came away with the win, Stojack took second and Gallardy third. Craig Johnson ran a distant fourth for most of the race, after moving up to seventh in the first moto.
