preceding days. At any rate, the muddy rocks made the going quite slippery and provided Lampkin with the opportunity to show his superiority. In section two, on the sea bank with slippery boulders, most riders were lucky just to make it through, and all broke three points - except for Lampkin, who only dabbed once and nearly cleaned it! With the confidence gained from that performance, the champ finished out the loop with the best score, though his 25 was quite high to lead at the World Championship level. His only five was in section seven, the only one not on the beach. In second was FUjinami, the Japanese rider just one point behind. The rest were way back. As usual, the second loop was run quickly, and Cabestany recovered very well from an off ride in the morning, picking up a group-best 15 points. Lampkin was just one point worse, so he earned the day's win. Unlucky Fujinami's engine fan stopped working and he had to refill his radiator several times. He was fifth on the loop, but it was still good enough to finish as the runner-up. Thanks to his great second-loop performance, Cabestany was third. DAV2 Branden .Jesseman Scores His First Supercross Win on Michelin What's better than getting your fir5l-ever Supercross win? How about getting your fir5l SX win three days before your 20th birthday? Team Blimpie Suzuki's Branden Jesseman did exactly that, leading every lap of the 125 Main at Pontiac, Michigan. And he did it on Michelin' starcross' tires. We're proud to be apart of such an important moment in Branden's career, but you don't have to be arising star to get the same kind of dominating performance from your Organizers addressed Saturday's high scores by simplifying five of Sunday's sections. One was shortened, as it had been too long to be ridden in the 90 seconds permitted starting this year. The improved weather also made things easier, so the competition was completely different. (Even the marshals - perhaps having studied up on the rulebook overnight - seemed prepared to be stricter on day two.) The first loop saw eight riders within just seven points of one another the opposite extreme from Saturday's spread-out scores. Lampkin and Adam Raga led with eight marks, followed by Fujinami another point back. On loop two, Lampkin and Raga again tied each other with a superb five penalties, but the Brit got the nod based on his having more cleans. Cabestany was actually even better at four - good enough to tie Fujinami and overtake him for the final podium spot based on cleans. _ tires.
