Christiansen blazed a trail straight to the finish to pull off his second straight win and the overall Expert crown. Jones raced hard behind him to earn second overall. ahead of Cowan and Hoover. The 125cc/250cc Novices were also in action. Michael Mersing, a 250cc Novice rider, led 125cc hotshoes Richard Lamis and Curtis Hanna as race action got under way. Hanna was railing, wailing and sailing, and he had fought through to second before bailing going down in the sweeper and dropping from contention. Mersing was flying out in front, but Lamis hounded him all race long, finishing just behind him to claim first 125cc Novice. As the second go-around got going, 125cc Novice Kyle Hoover blasted off the line to lead Mersing, David Morton and Jay Jaramillo. Mersing quickly shot into the point, while Jaramillo was 'keeping the pressure on Hoover for second. Hanna was on the prowl, carving his way up through the pack until he was breathing down Mersing's neck for the lead. Curtis passed Michael in the back section and roared on home with the win, which was good enough to earn him second overall in the 125cc Novice class. Mersing and Jamarillo took each other out on the white-flag lap, allowing Lamis to sneak home second and steal the overall 125cc Novice crown. Mersing recovered to take the overall 250cc Novice trophy. Results P{W 8: I. Andrew Adams. 658 (6·S): I. Bobby Hardin (KTM): 2. Jeff Hollie (Kaw). 85 B (7.11): 1. Kirk Payne (Hon); 2.
