Lincoln Trail Motosports Horton, Panapinto Conquer Casey By NIKKI DORANCZYK CASEY, IL, MAR. 24 The J 25cc B contest was a nail-biter, with fans running back and forth to catch every bit of action. Marty Ingram got the firstmoto holeshot and led until he went down in the uphill whoops. Ryno Racing/ bikeboot.com/GS3's Zack Hollingsworth moved into first. Michael's Honda/Maxima/Pro Artworks rider Steve Horton stayed right with Hollingsworth all race long. Three corners before the checkers, Hollingsworth got hung up behind a lapped rider and Horton made the outside pass to take the mota win. The second mota began with another Ingram holeshot. Hollingsworth moved into the lead over the tunnel jump. Horton followed and made his charge. The two were running side by side when Hollingsworth ran into more bad luck and tangled with a lapper. Horton got the win, while Hollingsworth remounted and finished second. Horton also aced the Schoolboy class. The 80cc Senior class featured a battle ......~-~--------------,'" 5 :i: CI: :> o 51 '" Z >lD ~ I 0. ,..........,c------------------,z between Josh Ivers and Josh Czemik. Czemik pulled the moto-one holeshot, followed by Ivers and Broc Sims. Then Sims took over the lead, but he crashed, ending his day. Czemik moved into first, with Ivers right on his rear fender. In the whoops before the finish, Ivers doubied in and closed the gap, but Czernik had the edge by inches. In moto two, Czemik had another perfect start. He and Ivers picked up where they had left off. On lap four, Ivers passed for the iead in the uphill whoops. The RK Chain/Power Plus/Magura-backed rider went on to pick up the moto and overall win. Ivers and Czernik also diced it up in the Supermini class and split moto wins, with Ivers taking another overall. J&P Cycle/Spy-sponsored Tony Panapinto got the holeshot in the first 80cc Junior moto and was followed by Skyler Lazenby and Kyle Sandlin. Tyler Asbell made his way through the pack but couldn't catch Panapinto. In moto two, Panapinto got the start again. Once more, Asbell had to go through the pack to catch up to Panapinto. On the white-flag lap, Asbell closed the gap, but he couldn't make a pass. Panapinto also dominated both 65cc motos. In 250cc A action, Wayne Ginder showed off his four-stroke's power by getting both holeshots. In the first mota, Ginder ran into trouble early and went down. Matt Maier took over the lead and checked out. In the second mota, Maier stayed with Ginder for a few laps but couldn't make his move. The Olney Yamaha· mounted Ginder took the overall win. Ginder and Maier fought it out in the 14-24 A class, too, with Maier winning mota one and Ginder winning mota two and the overall. In the first 50cc Senior moto, Reese Miller was first around the tum one. Brandon Pope then took over the lead on the tunnel jump and never looked back. In the second moto, the Midwest Action Cycle/M&H Cycle-sponsored Pope picked up a big holeshot and led from start to finish. Miller finished in second place and Ben Elson was third. ~ W lD o CI: Sl a: l!l i:i ~ Results 50 JR: 1. Caleb Hunter (KTM): 2. Colin Hunter (KTM): 3. Jeff Mlkelllorth (KTM); 4.
