Destry Abbott and Shane Esposito became the first two-time winners
in the race's history after coming
from behind to earn the victory and
its attendant $ 10,000 prize at the
Terrible's Town 250. Round three of
Best in the Desert's Silver State
Series, the $40,000 total purse that
the Herbst family's Terrible's Town
Casino offers is unmatched in North
America and probably the western
hemisphere; both the motorcycle and
truck/buggy overall winning teams
receive $10,000 in cash. Abbott won
the race with Brian Brown in '99,
while Esposito and David Ondas
topped the field the following year.
"We knew there were four or five
teams that were going to be really
tough to beat here," Abbott said. "We

"The money probably makes you
push a little harder and take some
chances that you shouldn't, but it definitely does make it a lot better."
