beginning to close. McGrath cruised
in fourth unchallenged and actually
picked up some speed as well. With
9n1y two laps remaining, Vuillemin
used a line to block Fonseca as they
entered the whoops. It was a popular
place for passing all night.
"I went inside in the corner before
and just drifted out into his line as we
went into the whoops," Vuillemin
said. "I had used it before also."
Only one lap remained, and
Carmichael was unreachable. He
crossed for his sixth win in a row and
was over seven seconds ahead of
Vuillemin. Fonseca held on for third,
and McGrath was next.
"I'll have my good races, and he
[Vuillemin) will have his," Carmichael
said. "I'm ready for the last few
weeks."
