them up more. You got to make it up on
the brakes and stuff. That place there is
just wears in one spot, it's about
10 mms. wide. It just saws it in half. Eventually it'll get better. We've tried soft,
hard, super hard, eventually it all tears.
Once it starts. it's over. We've had some
that went as much as 30 laps. We had
some that went 12 laps. "
MX Imports Inc., importers of Italian-made Vertimati motorcycles have announced that their
new SR570 Supermotard-specific model is now available for delivery. The 570cc, fourvalve, liquid-cooled bike will retail for $12,800, in addition to the company's existing S501
Supermotard bike that carries a retail price of $10,300.
Yertimati's out-of-the-crate 'Works Race Bike," the SR570 comes standard with 17 -inch
Excel rims with Talon hubs, wrapped in Dunlop race slicks. It comes pre safety-wired from
the factory, and also features catch tanks on all of the vent tubes. Braking is handled by an
oversized, French-made, 310mm Beringer rotor on the front with a four-piston caliper of the
same make. Out back is a Braking 220mm rotor and a Brembo caliper,

Yoshimura Suzuki's Aaron Yates was
at a loss to explain the surface at the new
racetrack. "It seems really slick, like really fine asphalt, like polished concrete. It's
really grippy, but it looks like it might be
hard on the front tires, which I t-hink
you're going to have to watch out for
that. That's what it looked like for us
when we were testing there. We were
chewing up the left side of the front tire
pretty bad. And that's the hardest tire
too. I don't really know what they're
going to have there for the race. We'll
just see how it goes. "
