Lacey snared the 125cc Pro title and Terlecki took home top honors in the 250cc Pro class. Riders from all over the West were lured to Oregon by a $10,000 Pro purse. Wolf Creek, Oregon's Lacey was the event's top money winner, taking home $2800. Terlecki earned $2600. Silverton, Oregon's Terlecki did the same in the 250cc class, using a 2-2-1-1 tally to earn the 250cc title. Mike Corder finished third overall in both classes. On Friday, Terlecki grabbed the lead at the unleashing of the weekend's first Pro moto, the 125cc, and although Lacey was credited with holeshot money by inching past his fellow Suzuki rider, Terlecki qUickly took the lead. Idaho's Jimmy LaMastus, Californian Scott Davis and Washington's Eric Cleveland filled the top five in the early stages. Lacey got around Terlecki on the fourth of 31 laps and held the lead for the next 16 laps. Lacey lost ground to Terlecki when the teenager got slightly out of shape, and that was all Terlecki needed to capitalize and grab the lead, which he maintained to the finish. While Lacey finished a close second, Corder clawed his way into contention after a poor start to finish third ahead of LaMastus, Davis and Californian Jeremy Santoro. In moto two, Lacey jumped out front, with Terlecki, Davis, Cleveland, Corder and Washington's Greg Crater following. Lacey and Terlecki spent all 31 laps in close proximity. LaMastus forged to the head of the field in the first 250cc Pro moto, but he only stayed out front for four laps, yielding first to Terlecki, then Lacey and finally Corder to finish fourth. The mother of all motos came in the final Pro contest of the weekend, the second 250cc moto. Lacey grabbed the lead and spent the early stages of the moto side by side with Terlecki.
