Saylor powered away to a big lead and the moto win. Bigalow moved around Walker for second. Walker then battled with Thorpe, only to lose third place at the end. Brice finished fifth. Saylor flew to the front in moto two and seemed to have the overall wrapped up. Halfway through the moto, however, the bike quit motoring out of the gator pit up to the tabletop. Saylor got the bike started, only to finish 15th - losing the overall, but Tyson Hadsell wins the 2!50cc/!500cc Pro class for the day - and the series championship - at the final round of the 31st annual FMF Florida Winter Am Series. checkers. Gray passed Lorusso on lap two and motored away for the win. They both knew that to win the championship, they had to place in the top two over' all or beat their closest rivals. They did just that: Hadsell swept the 250cc/500cc Pro class, and Gray did the same in the 125cc Pro class. The day was not the best - the skies stayed overcast, and there was a light drizzle - but track conditions were at an all-time high. Unlimited Sports worked on the track through the night to get it in tip-top shape, and there was traction aplenty throughout the day for the 419 riders who turned out. In the first 250cc Pro moto, Barry Carsten showed everyone how to pull the holeshot. Carsten led for the first couple of laps before Hadsell and Adams munched him up coming around the grandstands and the announcer's condo. Behind the three were Tony Lorusso and Jarrett Tipping. Hadsell and Adams pulled out to battle between themselves, with Hadsell getting the nod at the end. Gray charged through the pack to fjfth by the halfway flag. Gray passed Lorusso first, and with two laps to go he got by Carsten. The three stayed close but finished in that order. Adams led the second moto as Carsten, Hadsell, Gray and Kenneth Jones followed. Hadsell passed Carsten on lap one and set out after Adams. On lap four, Adams messed up and dropped to third. This gave Hadsell a big lead and the moto win. Carsten took over second and narrowly beat Adams to the line at the 40 FEBRUARY 20, 2002' cue Lorusso continued to move backward throughout the moto and ended up sixth. In the second moto, the tables were turned. Gray led, with Johnson hounding him in second, trying to get by. Gray won, with Johnson, Garro and Derrick Kain following. In the 250cc B class, Jacob Saylor led the first moto, followed by Charlie DavI Millsaps won the Supennlnl class and won the championship as well. most importantly Losing the championship as well. Quinton won the moto, the overall, and the championship. Thorpe moved around Walker again for the second spot. Riley Hall held back J.D. Heap for fourth. Davi Millsaps, the winner of the 85cc (12-13) contest, and Matt Goerke, winner of the 85cc (14-15) class, met in the Supermini class. Millsaps led every lap but the first lap of the first moto after passing early leader Nicholas Evennou. Goerke started midpack in the first moto and charged to second, only to see Millsaps get the checkers ahead of him. Evennou finished third. Ricky Renner, the 85cc (12-13) champion, battled to keep the fourth spot, ahead of Chad Wages. Millsaps led moto two and kept just enough distance ahead of a hardcharging Goerke to win. Evennou held third until he fell and dropped to seventh. Wages moved up to third.
