(Lett) Tommy Hofmaster (57) had two podium finishes to his credit, one each night. (RIght) Demuth (center) celebrates after winning SaturdaY's 125cc main, while Lange (right) finished second and Hofmaster (lett) finished third. (Below) Rusty Holland (8) led Sunday's 250cc main early, but got passed by Lange (7) before the end. Holland held on for second. Taking two second-place finishes over the weekend in the 250cc main, and a PowerAde Holeshot Award, was Suzuki/AXO/RG3/Bil!'s Pipes rider Rusty Holland. "The weekend was up and down for me," Holland said. "I got second in the 250cc main; my 250 is running great. I got the holeshot Saturday, I am just happy to be on the podium again." Pro Source/Thor/Enzo/Barr's Competition/Yamaha rider Tommy Hofmaster also had an up-and-down weekend, as he got two third-place finishes, one in each class. He also took the Dash For Cash on Friday. "The weekend was pretty good," Hofmaster said. "I won the Dash on Friday, I got a third in the 250cc main Friday, so that was good. I got another third in the 125cc main Saturday, so that was great, but I went down in the first turn with Josh [Demuth], so I played catch up. This was a good track and a great crowd, and I like being up on the top." FRIDAY Demuth pulled the other PowerAde Holeshot on his YZ250F, with Lange right on his tail. Hagseth, Jeff Willoh and Denny Stephenson were right after them, fighting for third. On the second lap, Lange went down and fell to the -back of the pack. This gave Hagseth a chance to take over second without any problem. Coming through the pack was a hard-charging Chad Johnson, as he made his way to third after six laps. Demuth started to check out, as he led the whole race without any pressure from the 14 other riders. Hagseth and Johnson started to battle for second during the last few laps of the race. In the end, Johnson was able to get by Hagseth to take second. Demuth placed first, and Willoh finished fourth, where he ran for most of the race. Stephenson, Ty Wallace, Jeromy Buehl, Mike Mason, Brandon Bartz, and Lange fmished out the top 10. In the Dash For Cash, Hofmaster pulled off the win over a hard-charging Lange and Demuth. This was Hofmaster's third Dash For Cash win this year. Mike "Supermen" Mason dominated the Extreme Jump-Off over Jeff "Disco" Willoh. The 250cc main saw Lange check out fast, as he pulled the PowerAde Holeshot and stayed in the lead for the whole race and felt no pressure the whole way. Holland, Wallace and Hofmaster were right behind him but just didn't have the speed to catch the fleeing Lange. Holland was able to get up to second after a few riders had problems in a few sections of the track. Taking over third was veteran rider Stephenson, as he held off a hard challenge from Hofmaster and Willoh. After a hard charge, Hofmaster was able to get back to third, where he stayed until the end. Lange took the win with ease, as he whipped it over the Dunlop finish jump. Hoiland pulled off second over Hofmaster, with Stephenson, Willoh, Sean Hamblin, Bartz, Buehl, Hagseth and Tom Kelley finishing out the top 10. SATURDAY In the 125cc main, it was Lange getting another holeshot, as he led most of the race. Right behind him were two YZ250F pilots, Demuth and Robbie McQuary, as they began putting pressure on hjm. Lange and Demuth started to pull away from the pack, as Hofmaster got by McQuary after two laps to take over third. Lange held off Demuth for most of the race until he made a mistake. That gave Demuth the chance to take over the lead. With a few laps to go, the top five stayed the same, with Demuth taking his second 125cc win of the weekend. Lange stayed in second, with Hofmaster right behind him. Willoh, Hagseth, Stephenson, Johnson, Holland, McQuary and Travis Hodges finishing out the top 10. In the Dash For Cash it was Lange taking his third win of series. Holland and Hofmaster both tried to stop him but were unsuccessful. Again taking the Extreme jump-off was Mason, with Willoh takjng second again. Stealing the holeshot from Lange in the 250cc main was Holland, who held the Canadian off for the first three laps. Right behind them was Holland's teammate Hagseth and Lange's teammate Stephenson. Lange eventually passed Holland for the lead, and Holland and Hagseth ended up holding on to second and third, respectively, to the finish. Stephenson stayed close to Holland and Hagseth, but nothing came of it (at least for now). In the end, it was Lange with the perfect weekend in the 250cc class, with Holland holding on to second, making it two in a row for him. After waiting most of the race to pass Hagseth. Stephenson saw his chance and took it to take a third overall. Hagseth, WHloh, Hofmaster, Demuth, Johnson, Hamblin, and Ryan Lockhart rounded out the top 10. eN Chad Johnson finished second in Friday's 125cc main. 250 EX: 1. Dercy Lange (KllW): 2.
