IFMA Spring Series Round 2: First Union Spectrum By JIM P. SANDERSON PHOTOS BY RAYMOND GUNDY PHILADELPHIA, PA, JAN. 11-12, 2002 II enny Bartram won both, Friday U and Saturday night's IFMA freestyle competitions at the First Union Spectrum in Philadelphia. Bartram now has a total of four consecutive wins in the series. Bartram's Bar Hop-to-Heel Clicker, Rock Solid and Superman Seat Grab-to-Nothing had the crowd on its feet. Bartram was the final rider of the night on both nights and needed to best Tommy "Tomcat" Clowers to take the hot seat and both wins. Bartram scored a 92.7 on Friday night and managed to top that on Saturday with a clean 93 out of a possible 100 points. Bartram now leads the series with 200 points. Clowers finished both nights in the runner-up position, scoring a high of 92 on Friday and 90.7 on Saturday. Clowers was the smoothest rider of the weekend behind Bartram. Clowers aIso had the crowd on its feet as fans watched him perform some of the best moves of the night, including a double-handed Seat Grab and a Look-Back Heart Attach. Clowers was just as much a crowd favorite as was Bartram. Clowers is also in the runner-up spot in series points with a total of 186. Jeff Tilton finished third on Friday night, performing the only No-Hander Lander of the evening for a score of 90.3. Nate Adams finished third on Saturday night with a final score of 91.5. Adams' Saturday-night run had some cool tricks, like the McMetz to no-Hander Lander and a DoubleHand Look-Back Heart Attack. Adam Jones scored 90 to finish fourth, and Adams' 89.7 score was good enough for fifth Friday night, while Tilton took fourth and Jones fifth on Saturday, scoring 91 and 90, respectively. The track dried out considerably by the finals on Saturday, making it slick in spots. It showed considerably for some less-experienced riders, especially in qualifying, as a few take-offs had to be aborted due to loss of traction.
