A big shake up in the Endurance racing
world has seen a definite split form
between the Octagon Motorsportsowned World Endurance Championship and the promoters of the three
main French-speaking 24-hour races - Le
Mans, Spa and the Bol d'Or. Always
uneasy bedfellows, the Flammini/French
combination proved to be unworkable,
with the big three going their own separate ways as one-off meetings in their
own right. The dates for the World Championship events, noticeable by their generally very short duration, are as follows:
April 28 - San Marino, Imola (200 miles):
May 19 - Great Britain, Silverstone (200
miles); June 16 - Czech Republic, Bmo (6
hours); August 4 - Japan, Suzuka (8
hours): August 10-11 - Germany, Oschersieben (24 hours): October 6 - Italy, Vallelunga (200 miles). The traditional 24hour races continue, with the (provisional)
dates being Le Mans 24 Hours
