Last year, the team featured six riders, but it will go with just three for 2002. Once again, Steve Lamson will be the team's number-one rider and will compete in all 16 rounds in the 250cc class. (Last year, Lamson competed in only selective Supercross races, instead concentrating his efforts on the outdoor Nationals.) Joining the Husqvarna team for the first time will be young 125cc riders Paul Veracka and Steve Mertens. Troy Lee Designs will once again provide the team's riding apparel, while most of the motorcycle tech work will be handled in-house. Manager: Bill Tanner/Jason Mitchel Headquarters: Alberta, Canada Riders: 250cc 40 Jean-Sebastien Roy Heath Voss 41 Canada Prior Lakes, Minnesota CRF450R CR250R Lowdown: The Blackfoot Motorsports team from Canada will again make its mark on the 2002 U.S. Supercross Series. Last year, the Blackfoot Racing Team was armed with three riders, but this year they're scaling back to just two riders, albeit two very good riders - Jean-Sebastien Roy and Heath Voss. Both will compete in the 250cc class. Roy is the current Canadian National Champion. and Voss, who hails from Minnesota, was the series' top privateer in 2000 and finished in the top 10 five times during the 2001 SX season. Roy will ride a CRF450R, while Voss will continue riding the CR250R two-stroke. Tom Morgan Racing will handle the team:S motor work, and Thor will provide the team's race wear. The team is made up of five riders, some veterans and some rookies. Mike Craig and Michael Brandes are the seniors of the group, and Craig will act as the team's manager. Chris Wheeler is relatively new to the Pro ranks, while Turbo Reif and Josh Woods will be making their first assault on the SX circuit.
