@TOYOTA Official Truck of Glen Helen WIIICD presents the @VAMAHA AVA ---- Gerralp and set his sights on Scheel. However, by the halfway point of the 10-lapper, Scheel was still in the lead and holding his own against Pro rider Johnson. Johnson wasn't going to let him beat him, though, and two laps later both Johnson and Ryan Huege had got around him. Johnson then cruised on to December 28th, 29th & 30th, 2001 Pro Purse to exceed an easy victory. $20,000 Johnson jumped out of the gate the fastest in the 125cc Pro/Intermediate main and never looked back. He was followed by Hue~ and Richard Page, and that order stayed the same during the entire race. Trevor Brooks took over the fourth-place spot after Jason Gilcrease crashed in the later stages of the race, and Gerralp trailed in a solid fifth. In the end, Johnson took the Pro-class win. while Huege got the Intermediate win, with second going to Page and third going to Brooks. David Taxel, on his new CR450F, got the holeshot honors in the Over 40 Expert-class qualifying but was T -boned and knocked over in the process, which handed the lead to Kevin Pinkstaff, who held on to that lead for the rest of race. He was followed by Terry Brooks and Tony Stumpf. Joel Palmer jumped out into the lead in the Over 40 A main, but his lead didn't last long. By the third lap, he was displaced to third by Stumpf and Taxel. After moving up from fourth to second in those first few laps, Taxel had quite a battle going on with Stumpf in the second half of the race, as the two were really going at it, racing almost neck to neck until just before.the last lap, when Taxel made his move through the S curves under the popular Demarini over-and·under jump and barely held on for the win. He was followed by Stumpf, Palmer, Brooks and Pinkstaff. Plus, prizes totaling $7,000 over ~ IAmateur Prizes I Saturday, December 29, 2001 by Invitation Only! Invitees include Langston. Roncada.
