sports Honda, followed closely by Baker and Campbell. Baker passed Lampe and started to close on Craven, taking second place from Craven by the beginning of the fourth lap. Oettel dropped back to fourth, and Baker took over the lead for the win. Craven took second, in front of Campbell, who was followed by Oettel and Lampe. Lampe nailed the second-moto holeshot, in front of Campbell and Rodney Carrier, on a Suspension Plus KTM. Baker moved into second by the end of the first lap, followed closely by Campbell, Carrier and Browning. Baker passed Lampe for the lead on the next lap and pulled out to a four-second lead for the win. Oettel and Craven worked up from poor starts to battle with Campbell, with Oettel taking third place for good on lap five. Craven fought hard with Campbell, taking fourth place on the last lap for the final running order. Baker got the overall with both moto wins, followed by Craven (2-4). Lampe (5-2) claimed third, in front of Oettel (4-3) and Campbell (3-5). Baker took the holeshot in the first 125cc A moto, in front of Browning and Action Motorsports Kawasaki jockey Jeff Moore. Campbell moved up to battle with Baker for the lead, but Baker held on for the win. Browning held third for four laps before falling back to seventh on lap five, moving Craven into third, in front of Lampe and Oettel. Lampe dropped back to eighthe on the next lap, and Oettel finished fourth, in front of Moore. Browning nailed the moto-two holeshot, in front of Lampe and Oettel. Browning led for two laps before Craven took the lead for good on lap three. Browning held on to second place, followed by Lampe, Campbell and Baker. The top five were only seconds apart, and Baker fought with Campbell for three laps before taking fourth place on lap four. Baker pressured Lampe for two laps, taking third with a lap to go. Oettel passed Campbell for fifth, and Baker got by Browning on the last lap for second place. Baker took the overall with a 1-2 tally, in front of Craven (3-1) and Oettel (4-5). Browning (7-3) claimed fourth, and Campbell (2-8) took fifth. Carrier took both wins in the Over 25 A class, in front of Moore and Honda-mounted Darren Borcherding. Carrier led the first Over 30 A moto but went down while battling with Borcherding, who took the overall win, in front of Yamaha pilot Greg Hazdra and Honda rider Todd Flickinger. Carrier took the win in the second moto for fifth overall. "Fly in'· Ryan Sipes took all six moto wins in the 16-24, 125cc Band 250cc B classes on a Team Green Kawasaki. Sipes went wire to wire for the win in all four motos of the 125cc Band 250cc B classes. Freddy Karrle claimed second on a B6E Honda in both 125cc B motos, in front of Adam Robinson on a Carter Yamaha. Daniel Cahill took second in the 250cc B class with a 3-2 tally on a Blur/O'Neal KTM, in front of Paul's Cycle Yamaha rider Brad Abele (5-3). T.J. Blake nailed the holeshot in both 16-24 motos but couldn't hold off Sipes for more than two laps. Blake finished second in both motos, and Yamaha jockey Jason Brewington (4-3) claimed third. Karrle took both moto wins in the 125cc Youth class, in front of Senior Mini winner Justin "Pooh" Sipes and Lucas Stanton, on a Pirelli/No Fear Yamaha. Dreyer Motorsports/Podium One Mammoth East Podium One Gold series Round 21: Paoli Peaks Dettel, Baker Battle for King of the Hill Pridemore, and led the first lap. Oettel passed Baker on the first lap for second place, followed by Pridemore and Browning. Oettel passed Lampe for the lead on the second lap, and Browning and Carrier got by Pridemore. The running order stayed the same for three laps before Baker moved into second place, in front of Lampe, for the final change in the top five. Oettel took the overall with a 2-1 tally, in front of Baker's 1-2 score. Lampe claimed third with consistent 3-3 fini5hes, in front of Browning and Carrier. Baker took the holeshot in the first 125cc A moto, in front of Oettel and Lampe. Oettel moved into the lead on the first lap and Baker held second place, in front of Lampe and Suzuki jockey Scott Craven. Oettel and Baker fought hard for the lead over the last three laps, and Baker made a last-second charge for the win on the straight before the checkered flag. Baker got alongside Oettel, but a lapped rider got in the way near the finish line and Baker had to back off the throttle and settle for second place. Lampe held on to take third, in front of Craven. Browning finished fifth. Baker took the holeshot again in the second moto, in front of Browning and Lampe, and went on to take the wire-to-wire victory. Lampe passed Browning on the first lap, and Craven got by Browning on the second lap for third place. Craven moved up and passed Lampe on the fourth lap for second place, but Lampe fought back and reclaimed the position for good a Bv MARK BUCHANAN PAOU, IN, OCT. 21 T he second day of the second annual Dreyer Motorsports/Podium One Mammoth East event was another spectacular day of racing in Paoli, Indiana. The Podium One crew groomed the track in the morning, and the weather was perfect for October, with mild temperatures and sunny skies, and the racing couldn't get much better. David Oettel fought hard with Jeff Baker for king-of-thehill honors in both the 125cc A and 250cc A classes. Baker took the holeshot in the first 250cc A moto on a Pro Circuit/Dreyer Yamaha, in front of Rodney Carrier, on a Suspension Plus/S6S Powersports KTM, and Kevin Lampe, on a Thompson's Motorsports Honda. Oettel, on a MotoXtremes Husqvarna, moved into second place by the end of the first lap, followed by Lampe, D6D Oolitic Store-backed Honda rider Tim Pridemore, and Willy Browning, on an F6S Suzuki. Browning and Carrier passed Pridemore on the second lap and Oettel started to close the gap on Baker. Oettel pressured Baker for the lead in a great battle and briefly made the pass for the lead on the fifth lap. Baker fought back and reclaimed the lead for good a few turns later. Oettel slid out in the turn after the tabletop jump but remounted qUickly to hoid on to second place, in front of Lampe, Browning and Carrier.
