....""""....----------;---------------:=,....--------,-- Redwood Empire Fairgrounds MX in Ukiah. California. Lap after lap. their side-by-side. tire-banging block-passing and near-take-outs left all the spectators hooting and hollering for their favorite rider! Mondo won moto one, but Ziganti had a wheel on Mondo in moto two when Mondo's KTM seized, and that would leave the Yamaha-mounted Ziganti out front and unchallenged for the win and the overall victory in the 250cc Expert class. The 85cc Beginner class was large on drama, and Tasha Shelton was playing the lead role, working her way up from midpack, Shelton took her Yamaha to the front and straight checked out on the rest of the riders, who could only scratch their heads in wonder and awe at this girl's skill. Another girl whose skill level has been on the rise is 65cc Beginner rider Kristen Pinto. She rode her Kawasaki to a 2-2 finish by being smooth and fast, and that would payoff for Pinto, as she snagged the overall for the 65cc Beginner class. w '" ~ ~ LOCAL TALENT "' i'i; ~ R.sult. 50 (4·6): I. Reo MOBERLY, MO, NOV. 4 Springlike temperatures welcomed the riders to the last round of the HLR track championship series. With nearly perfect track conditions and the incentive of getting one of those jackets and a 4-foot-tall trophy. everyone knew the racing was going to be good. In the Over 40 class. Jones Powersports rider Dennis Pollard put his Kawasaki out front, and he was cookin'! Pollard won both motos and the overall. The action was all behind Pollard, where Jake Mast and Jeff Forgey were going at it. Mast took second in the first moto, with Forgey third. The second moto appeared to be the same story, with Pollard out front and Mast and Forgey going at it again. This time, Mast could not hold of the charging Forgey. who slipped by to take second for the moto and second overall. Mast finished third and third overall. The Supermini class was one of the biggest classes of the day, and it featured some great racing. Mason Glorioso did not get the starts he wanted in either moto. and he had to work his way to the front for both moto wins - and it was a good ride. The Gulley boys would not let him have it easy, fighting him each moto, with Aaron Gulley finishing second overall and Adam Gulley third overall. DECEMBER 5, 2001 • IC U IC •••..•.
