being going a notch faster each lap than his
competitors, and by halfway he enjoyed a
seven-second cushion. DePillo rode well in
second on his Yamaha, while Mallow, aboard
his YZ250, was getting the best of the battle
for third place. Out front, Conover was showing he had the stamina as well as the speed,
and when the white flag came out he was still
charging hard. DePillo was all alone in second
place, while Mallow continued in third, ahead
of Falk and Diez, Conover had a mistake-free
last lap and took the moto win comfortably.
DePillo was next best, while Mallow, Falk, and
Diez filled out the top five slots.
On the day, the overall class victory went to
Conover by virtue of his impressive 1-1 performances. Mallow was runner-up with a 2-3 tally,
and DePillo's strong second moto and 5-2
overall scores were good for third. Falk (3-4)
was fourth, while Diez (6-5) filled out the top
five slots.
