Overall, Carrera was the winner, in spite of his first·moto failure. Venable, even with the last·lap drop by a position, recorded a consis· tent 2·3-3 for runner· up honors, denying the late-charging Shelton (1-6-2) by one point. LeMaster's fourth place left him out of the trophies with a 3-4-4 score. In other action, Abie Lara Jr., whose first ride in the Vet Junior class was spoiled by Paul McPhail, rebounded this week and turned the tables on his op,ponent, winning the first two races on his Bert's Mega Mall Kawasaki, with McPhail nursing his 23-year-old Honda to second place. Andrew Mulgrew ran his JBC Kawasaki to a second-place finish, behind Dallas Leedom's Motion X Sports Kawasaki, in the first 65cc Beginner moto, and then came back to win the final two motos to snatch the overall. Tasmanian Devil: a carnivorous marsupial that is capable of completely devouring prey such as snakes, birds, rodentS', lizards and wallabies. There was a sighting of such a carnivore in Pittsburg, and the Ladies Expert class should beware; Tracy "Taz" Kisor has finished first twice in a row. "I got a pretty good start." Kisor related. "Sheni [Stephens] got the holeshot and I fell in behind her. At the first big mudhole, I took the line to the left and got stuck in a 3-foot-deep rut - I kid you not. Gina [Montey) got by me las did] a couple others before I could get out of there and catch up to the group.
