up a lot of nice berms that I could just rail up against. I could just hold it wide open." Behind Hepler raged some incredible races for second place. In the Schoolboy class, Kevin Hoge, Warren Laney and Ryan Coleman battled all day. Hoge held off Laney in the first moto, and then had to withstand a tremendous challenge from Coleman in moto two. The two went back and forth until Laney joined the pack and actually passed them both in one comer to nail second in the moto and overall. Hepler built two more big leads on his way to a 1-1 in the 125cc B class. Hoge and Coleman went at it again, this time joined by Suzuki-mounted Randy Schuck, who ran 3-2 for second overall, beating Coleman's 2-3 and Hoge's 4-5. Hocking County Fairgrounds Proctor Gambols toTwo Bv RUPERT X. PEllETT LOGAN, OH, SEPT. 12 Young Cody Proctor wins quite a few races in the Ohio County Fair Motocross Championship Series. However, on this night in Logan, Ohio, site of round 23, in front of his hometown crowd, the Yamaha-mounted racer was simply unstoppable. Deep in the heart of southern Ohio, the Hocking County Fair came alive with the sounds and smells of motocross racing as o more than 300 hardy racers appeared for a weeknight of bike thrashing. Proctor, from Logon, didn't need to further than downtown to the fairgrounds to take his mind off it being a school night, and he made the best of it, sweeping to both moto wins in the 80cc Extra class and the 85cc (12-15) known locally as the Mini Senior class. Series rivols Perry Hoover ond Josh Toney made him work for the wins, but Proctor's mastery of the fair track's whoops section and his very fast riding would have them bottling for the other podium spots. Toney woiJId take second in the Mini Senior contest, with Hoover third, while those two finishes would flip-flop in the Mini Extra class, with Hoover lllking the runner-up position. Another hometown boy tasted victory in two classes. Levi Kilbarger roosted his way to the 65cc-class win and then later posted the Mini Junior 85cc (7-11) win as well. Coming up from Jockson, which Is further south in the state, Mitch Warrens cotapulted his Kawasaki to the front in the 250cc B and Over 30 classes, firmly entering his name into the Logan record books, while Chris Smith stormed his CR250 home for the Over 25 victory. In the 50cc races, Blake Hoffman and Colin Thomas both dug deep and displayed their incredible riding talents. Thomas bested the 50cc Pee Wee class, while Hoffman snatched the win in the 50cc (4-6) division. The 50cc (7-8) group wos topped by Dylan Walker of Lancaster, who screamed his King Cobra 50 in for onother first-place trophy to add to his already Impressive collection. The Money classes featured some incredible action, as bikes were flying everywhere and the lead changed hands extensively. Ultimately, Shaun Kuchler took the 125cc A win, and Bub Thomas manhandled the 250cc A division. Great riding was performed by local David Herb. who notched second-place finishes in both contests. KB Motocross Feder Takes It AARON AND ADAM HANSEL SACRAMENTO, CA. SEPT. 14 As the first 125cc Novice moto got under way, Kyle Feder started the evening right with an aggressive holeshot over Shawn Watkins, Chris Budd and Bryce Olson. The leaders dropped into single file until the double-double obstacle. Olson displayed skill with a sweet inside move on Budd to take over third. In front, Feder was on the gas and creating a comfortable lead. Near the end of lap one, Olson showed Wotkins a wheel and got a smoother run through the whoops to take over second and took off after the Feder. After getting passed, Watkins seemed 0 bit rattled and gave Budd the opportunity to catch him when he got loopy over the double-double. In a desperation move, Watkins retook the position from Budd on the ensuing corner. For some reason, Steven Butschy was riding around looking very upset. The battle for third was letting the two KTM riders in the lead pull far away. With just a lap to go. Olson was getting closer to Feder. Everyone was wondering if he could make it interesting. Shortly before the end, Feder attempted to distract Olson and threw up a merciless roost cloud, but it was to no avail, as Olson made the pass in the whoops right before the finish line. Watkins came in third. holding off Budd for the position. When the gate dropped for moto two, Olson was the rider to beat, but Feder ended up grabbing the holeshot - only to have YZ250F Tunning second, while Motocross Action's Willy Musgrave slid Into third aboard his YZ250. Nate Hawley was fourth, and Craig Davis filled out the top five on a KTM SX 125. Amaradio quickly swooped by Fowler for the lead on the first lap while the pack negotiated the back conyon for the first time. Fowler held second, ahead of Musgrave and Davis, who had moved up to fourth on lap two. Simply put, Amaradio was going really, really fast, and by the halfwoy point in the roce, he had put 0 10-second gap on the field. Fowler was all alone in second place. while Davis had closed on Musgrave in a good battle for third place. Amaradio was as smooth as he was fast. and he continued to chorge mistake-free out front. When the white flag came out, Amaradio was 14 seconds in front of Fowler. Davis finally found a woy past Musgrave and took over the third-place position. When the checkers came out, Amaradio rolled across the line first for an impressive first~moto win. Fowler was next best, while Davis took a well-deserved third. When moto two left the line, Amaradio was leading the pack with a nice holeshot - no small feat, considering he wos underpowered on the 250cc four-stroke against much larger and more-powerful bikes. Musgrave slipped into second, while Davis was third, this time on his Factory R&D/Bamett/Wind-TWS-sponsored KTM SX 520 thumper. Fowler was outside the top five, but soon he was right behind Davis, in fourth place. With clear track in front of him, Amaradio was untouchable, and he stretched out his lead at the rate of one to two seconds per lap. Both Davis and Fowler found a way around Musgrave, and soon the two riders were engllged in a dogfight for second. The two riders rode in tight formation for a few laps until Fowler eventually found a way past and forged into second place. Meanwhile, out front, Amaradio was showing a lot of skill os he put on quite a display while stretching out his lead. When the checkered flag came out. Amaradio was again about 15 seconds in front of Fowler, who once again finished up in second place. Davis was 0 close third, making the second moto's results mirror the first's. On the day, Amarodio (I-I) was the overall class winner, which garnered him the lion's share of the purse. Fowler (2-2) was the runner-up, while Davis (3-3) filled out the top three positions. Shawn A1away steal the lead. Olson started in fourth again. Over the first lap, the riders fell into a single-file line and nothing exciting took place until Feder ond Alaway went wheel to wheel through the whoops. Feder cased slightly and couldn't make a move stick. Starting lap two, Olson outaccelerated Butschy on the starting straight to take over third and then set out after Feder, needing another position to take the overall. Adam Kum had crashed on the start and was still in the first tum, trying to get fire, when the pack came around. Going into the double-double, Feder almost rammed Alaway from behind and had to jam on the brakes, giving Olson a break. Alaway wos blocking Feder at every comer. This allowed Olson to quickly close on the lead riders. Meanwhile, Taylor Crawford had moved up to put himself in a good position if one of the top three bobbled. With a single lap remaining, Olson caught Feder. In their battle, they let Alaway pick up a little breathing room. The winner of the Alaway-and-Feder duel would be the night's overall winner. With only a few turns remaining, they were riding bar to bar. Feder grabbed an inside line and Olson tried to rail the outside, but the decision was bad and he lost ground. Olson had one last shot to pass in the final whoop section ogain, but this time Feder held on for the moto and overall wins. Results 50 YAM/SlJZ BEQ: I. Chris ~oque (Yam); 2. Trllvls Timm (Yam); 3.
