Stock (7-11) competition and 35th in the 65cc Stock division - the young racer from Fisherville, Tennessee, captured every holeshot and swept every mota he contested over the weekend-long event just outside of Covington, Tennessee. In the first Supermini mota, Miller had to ward off attacks from fellow Sarge's Cycle rider Tyson Ezell on the first couple of laps. but after that it was nothing but Miller. The race was for second place, between Ezell and yet another Sarge's Cycle rider, Cody Patterson. For the last three laps around Hidden Valley's mile-plus circuit, Ezell and Patterson pulled off pro move after pro move while each tried to gain the upper hand. One would cut off the other, using insjde-to-outside moves in the comers to gain the lead; then the other would use the same move to regain the lead. One would choose a different line through the whoops or a rhythm section to gain the lead; then the other would do the same and regain the lead. This battle for second came down to the last 50 yards of the race. Ezell took a tight inside line on a sharp] aO-degree turn, disrupting Patterson's line and balance. Patterson went down and Ezell jumped the finish-line table top to capture the second-place finish, behind Miller. By the time Patterson regained his composure and remounted, he'd dropped back to 15th. In mota two, Miller again propelled himself out of the gate and to the holeshot, with Ezell, Alabama's Jonathan Dove, and Patterson in tow. As Miller ran off and left the pack behind, Ezell, Dove and Patterson seemed to settle into an evenJy spaced race for the spots they held. With little contesting of any position, mota two ended with Miller on top, followed by Ezell, Dove and Patterson. The Sarge's Cycle-sponsored trio of Miller, Ezell and Patterson dominated the 85cc class· es all weekend. Miller harvested across· theboard wins on both days in the Supermini and 85cc (7·11) divisions. Ezell, who was on hand for the first day only, took the crown in the 85cc (12-15) class, and Patterson secured a second-place finish in Supermjni on day two.
