taking eighth on tie-breakers over
Rich Lafferty and Hawkins, who completed the top 10.
The newly recrowned champion
was happy to back to his winning
ways, saying, "I was pretty much on
a mission today to get back to winning. I wanted to start off fast and
keep it going all day, and I think I
accomplished that. My KTM 400
four-stroke was perfect. I'm looking
forward to the last round in
Delaware; it's close to my hometown, so hopefully I can finish off the
year eight for nine. I have to take my
hat off to Alan and his wife Melissa they put on a great race and do a
fantastic job wrenching on my bikes
and running my pits. I can't thank
them enough."

Michael Lafferty was scheduled to race while using a helmet cam for the upcoming video 2001
