Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championship trail falls right in the middle
of the Illinois Motorcycle Dealers
Association's tripleheader weekend.
The fast, smooth "Springfield Mile"
provides an $11,825 payoff to the
winner. Harley-Davidson of Sacramento/Phoenix Racing's Chris Carr
became the first rider in history to
claim the big money and, as a bonus,
the 34-year-old Carr also claimed his
third AMA Grand National Series title.
