round of California Racing Club's Saturday night motocross, held at Los Angeles County Raceway. Outlaw Racing-backed Jon Hall proved to be quickest out of the gate, leading Mark Pacheco, Crane, Mike Verdick and the rest of the field early in moto one. Crane was quickly around Pacheco for second place, and then he hounded Hall for a short while before taking over the lead by lap two. From that point on, the race was all Crane's, as he effortlessly motored away with the win. Pacheco got around Hall for second place at the midway point, with Verdick crossing the line for fourth. ahead of Bob Woods. Hall proved his first-moto holeshot was no fluke as he did it again in moto two, just ahead of Crane and Pacheco. A couple of bobbles on the part of Crane on the opening lap dropped him to fourth, while Pacheco overtook Hall for the top spot. Pacheco put a few seconds on the field as Crane climbed back up into second place by the penultimate lap. A miscue by Pacheco allowed Crane to see the white flag first. Crane held off Pacheco on his TRE/MotoXXX/Plano Honda during the final circuit for a sweep of the class. Hall finished all alone in third for third overall, followed by the 5-4 score of Woods and the 4-5 tally of Verdick. It wasn't much of a contest in the first 125cc Beginner moto. as Ryan Gee went wire to wire for the win with a sizable lead. Greg Owen, Ryan Butts and Tony Sena were left to fight over second place, with Owen coming out on top. Owen got the holeshot in moto two, but by lap two Gee was out front again and pulling away. Owen and Sena traded second place back and forth, with Sena prevailing this time out to earn the second-place trophy. Butts went 4-4 for fourth, behind the 2-3 tally of Owen. Former AMA National Motocross Champi· on and current GNCC contender Mike Kiedrowski picked up some spending money by easily dominating the 250cc and Vet Pro classes aboard his Suzuki Motor Corp./FMF/Axo-backed RM250. Nick Mairose and Raymond Smith traded runner-up finishes behind Kiedrowski in the 250cc class, with Smith getting the nod in moto two.
