People either love or hate these Videos primarily because of the reckless image the riders portray on the surface. Critics will pomt to the lIIesponsible actions of Team X-Factor's double-yellow-CIossing, stand-Up wheelle ridlllg antics, but if it wasn't for the excltement thaI Ih,s kmd of ndmg adds, there Dever would have been a CDlSlJI Demons of Dut or Las Vegas Extremes m the first place. The Video features a ton of knee-down corner-carvmg. with tllamurn knee sliders blazmg. XFaClor's target audience will enjoy this video Just the same. Besides, everyone III the Video IS always wearmg full protective gear, so It definitely ponrays a dose of responsibility III the sea of mayhem thaI unfolds on screen, and we're big fans of that. X-FaClor adds another mce touch by mtroduClDg and IIlterviewing the nders, which humanizes Ihem 10 such a fashion that you won't have to hear your gulfriend yammering in the other room about wbat mmdless meatbeads they are, because they aren't - they're just regtJlar Joes Not to be disrespectitl! to the other members of Team X-Factor, but the star of this video, as in UrbaD Assault. is Jason Bntton. Bntton is clearly the most talented nder of iIle group, with the cleanest riding and Sickest tncks of the bunch. There are two tricks that Bntton pulls that are the most memorable moments of the video. The first IS tus 45plus-second stand-up wheelie, which, at the speed he's traveling, has to cover well over a mile - It'S galla be the longest freakin' wheelie of ali tune. The sec.oDd IS tus trick calied "The Elevator," where he stands on the pegs and theD leaps slrooght up and onto the fuel tank 10 one fell swoop at 40 mph - don't try this one at home. The Video quality of AJ1 Twlsted aDd Pucked Up IS excellent, with most of the onboard footage rivalmg that of the camera Views in Grand Prix racing. They use many different camera angles aDd viewpoints, which is kmd of DIce, but just like any of these Videos, some of the footage can get repetitious. The Video has a quality soundtrack, with anists Ilke Disturbed, The Cult, Helmet, Stone Temple Pilots, and Van Halen, among others, helping keep the video from sounding Ilke a porno (...not that we would know). The video has Its slow parts and we kind of wIsh that the guys would have ventured off of the Onega Highway a couple more times to give us a fresh view, but there are plenty of exciting clips and close calls to keep you watch!Dg, Fans of the Las Vegas Extremes video may wish that there was more stunt riding, but there are still plenty of wheelies and stoppies to be had, 14 AuGUST 29. 2001 • cue • • n e _ !IS -
