Saunders Trucking's Daniel Nuckols
and Highlands Kawasaki/GRC rider
Eddie Self had moved into fourth and
fifth, respectively. Self passed Nuckols, but Nuckols quickly retaliated,
taking the position back. Self passed
Nuckols one more time before pulling
away enough to hold him off. When
the white flag came out, Tammock
had a commanding lead over the rest
of the field. Ukins had his hands full
with Stevens, who passed the Tape
Inc./ADK Motorsports rider briefly
before Likins came charging back. At
the finish, it was Tammock, ahead of
Likins and Stevens, with Self and
Nuckols rounding out the top five. eN

KNOXVILLE, TN, JULY 21-22
A new track, rain, double points, and
F"\a new Pro champion were the
order of the weekend at round 13 of the
United States Mega Series. The track
was prepped to perfection with tons
and tons of sawdust and some unique
natural motocross sections - uphills,
downhills and off-cambers - but heavy
rain on Friday night left the track
muddy for Saturday morning, and
another dose of rain on Saturday night
left the track in the same condition for
Sunday morning. The track came
around by noon on both days, making
for some great racing_ Riders who
attended would be rewarded with double points for their finishes, so the riders
- including Joshua Summey - came
running to check out the new venue.
Summey was excited about the
track when he walked it Saturday, and
the excitement bled over into his racing on Sunday. The Kawasaki Team
Green/ Suzuki-Kawasaki of Gastonia/Pro Circuit/ Scott USA/Shoeibacked rider didn't get great starts,
but he rode his heart out all day.

Planet/Shift/Pirelli/Boyesen/ Tagsponsored Robbie Horton took over
the lead position, with Jim's Honda/

In the second moto, Boruff again
took the holeshot, with Suzuki/Creative Graphics/Annex Designs' Doug
