In a great night of racing, Jackson's Mitch
Warrens was extremely impressive, winning
the 250cc B class and standing on the podium
in the Over 25 and Over 30 classes.
Cam Rafferty and Jeremy Parsons, each with
1 I points. The last spot in the main would
need to be determined by a runoff between the
three riders tied at 10 points.
The lineup for the runoff had Craig Estelle
in one, North Carolinian Ronny Kemp in two,
and Jerry Harmon in three. When the tapes
went up. Estelle bolted into the lead, with
Kemp a close second and Harmon getting
hung out on the high line. By the end of the
first lap, Estelle had pulled out to a comfortable lead, while Harmon worked for a way
past Kemp. At the checkers, Estelle took a
comfortable win and the last spot in the main.
Kemp came home second, with Harmon third.
In the lineup for the main event, Parsons
drew the pole position, Rafferty drew two, Villar drew three and Estelle ended up on the
outside in four. Estelle got an awesome gate
from the outside position. Villar was second
into the first turn, with Rafferty and Parsons
following closely. Coming out of turn two,
Estelle had pulled just slightly ahead of Villar
and was able to head to the inside to protect
his narrow lead, but the Argentine drove hard
to the outside of tums three and four to swoop
around the outside of Estelle and into the lead.
From there, Villar pulled to away to a comfortable lead while Estelle fought to gain ground.
At the flag, it was Villar taking the win, with
Estelle second, Rafferty third and Parsons
fourth.
As the referee tried to hand the fiag to Villar, he leaned his Jawa over on the peg to wait
for the second-placed Estelle to climb on
board so they both could receive the applause
from the appreciative crowd on a tandem vic·
tory lap.

steamed his Suzuki in for the 125cc C-c1ass
victory, while Columbus, Ohio's Chad Zaiser
continued his assault on the 250cc Beginners.
Derrick Arledge stormed his F&S Suzuki
RM 125 in first in the Schoolboy class and
snatched the 125cc B victory, too.
Also capturing two classes for the night
was Yamaha thumper master Chris "Led Man"
Leadbeater, who stomped off with the Openclass and 16·24 division victories.
"Crazy" Corey Carr was the man to beat
on the 65cc bikes, as he screamed his
Kawasaki home first in that class.
A couple of local Marietta kids fought it out
for the 50cc (7-8) victory. Locals Joe Lane
and Mike Brown finished one-two, respectively, in that competitive race.
Leading the 80cc classes on this night of
one-moto-format action was Logan's Levi KiIbarger. Using his incredible skills, Kilbarger

esting by announcing each donation made to
the dash and helping to increase the pot for
the first three riders. It was an incredibly fast
race, featuring six of the day's best riders battling with one another for the pot at the finish.
Rick Hocking was first over the line, followed
by Clay Chambers and Shawn Raggio.
Jesse Ochoa and Matt Proto diced back
and forth for the first position in the MX A
class. Ochoa c~me off the line first for the
holeshot, but during the second lap Proto
caught and passed him - only to be repassed
by Ochoa. Proto passed Ochoa again, but
then Proto fell and Ochoa won the race eaSily,
with Nick Moore finishing second.
One of the day's more memorable
moments occurred in the Pro Am heat race.
Hocking and Danny Casey shot away from the
line together and went into tum one elbow to
elbow. They traded the lead throughout the
race, remainjng elbow to elbow, tum to tum.
The race had the crowd in the stands on its
feet as Casey was the first to cross the line.
Hocking finished second by about a wheel.
The Open A contest had Mark Corsetti, on
his Wood-Rolax, in front and leading the pack
of 11 riders for the entire race. Behind him
was a race for second, with Anthony
Giammanco, Hocking and Raggio changing
positions from comer to comer as they drove
with skill. When the final comer was tumed,
Corsetti was first. Giammanco was second
and Hocking was third, and the race finished
in that order. Corsetti held the checkered flag
high, proclaiming that his victory was "for
Robby D."
In the Old-Timers (Over 40) contest,
Michael Crump worked hard to beat Raymond
Diaz in the C class, and Robert Scally took
first in the A class, in front of Mark Biscardi.
Crump's girls Kaylyn and Chivon were first
and second on the Pee Wee 80cc class.
In the Senior (Over 50) class, Scally and
Steve Lacy lined up. Lacy got the holeshot
and held off Scally for the first five laps, but
then he tired and waved goodbye to Scally as
Scally passed him.
Lacy is still resting.
