PElLETI WIUIT 00 You LIKE BEST LOGAN, OH. MAY 27·28 This Sunday-Monday affair at this southern Ohio motocross track witnessed an overflow crowd of Memorial Day racers packed in to compete on the rolling hills outside of Logan. Track organizer Tab Thompson provided a well-manicured circuit to the throng of assem· bled riders. The recent rains had subsided, and the sunshine made a nice change from Ohio's "monsoon season" that had been dumping buckets of water in the area. Track owner Tony Kilbarger's son Levi had a momentous two days of racing, capturing the overalls in the 65cc and 85cc (7-11) divisions on both days. F&S wonder kid Michael Wiliard also strutted his stuff. capturing Sunday's 85cc (12-15) class victory and then wreaking havoc on Monday's competition, stuffing his trailer with first-place trophies from the 85cc and Schoolboy classes. Local fast young man Dylan Walker made the most of the two-day event as well, taking the 50cc (7-8) class victories on both days. Sunday's money classes were the sole domain of one Mark"Junior" Burkhart. He zipped off with a bag of cash after destroying the fields in the 125cc and 250cc A classes. On Monday, Steve Richards topped the 125cc A class on his Yamaha, while Jason Wade stole the show in the 250cc A division. Shaun Kuchler rode the wheels off his Hondas to second place in both classes. In Veteran racing action, Mike Morgan mastered the Over 25 and Over 30 age divi· sions, and his even older buddy Jamie Burton sank his teeth into the Over 40 class, besting second-placed Jim Dickerson and, in the third spot, "Gentleman" Gerry Bennett on his Yamaha YZ426F. Bennett came back on Monday to wrestle the track once again, riding his four-stroke to the Over 40 win. 68 JULY 4, 2001 • cue • e ABOUT RAcllIIG1' "The feeling I get when I win." W.
