S CREWS PARIS, TN , MAY 5 He did n't win every mota he ran, but one th ing should be noted abou t K yle Wisdom: He race d his heart out eac h and every tim e his knobbies bit into th e sawdust loa m of Acti on Vall ey MX Park . T he Yam aha racer co ntes ted th e 65cc Sen io r and Su permini classes at the th i rd round of th e Ten nessee O utdoor MX Series , and he ca me away with tw o well- dese rved tr ophi es: one was a fifth place for hi s overall finish in Supe rmini ; th e other was a tall, glea min g fi rs t -place nu m ber fo r wi nning the 85cc Sen ior class. Bu t thet's not th e who le story. Wi sdo m 's story stems from his unr elenting effort to give 1 10 percent - wi n or lo se. For ex am ple, the Superm ini class prov ed to be a challenge for Wisdom. Wi th regi onal hot shots such as B rand en M ille r, Brand on Cro sb y, J a mes Mitchell a nd Brett Camero n testing eac h other in bo th motos , WIsdo m could on ly fig ht to hold on to his fifth-plac e ove ra ll fi ni sh by pla cin g fifth in the fir st moto and sixth in the seco nd. Fa cing Cr os by and Mitchell in the 8 5cc Senior cp ntest, Wisdom found his niche on the tra ck and burned the enti re cl ass with a severe smoking in mota on e, capturing the lead early in the rac e and putting seconds between hi mself and the dueling Cro sby and Mi tche ll. In moto two , Will iam Cato g o t the ho leshot, but Mitchell got a bad jump off th e gate and found himself jam m ed in th e middle of the pack as the 19 co nt estants ro und ed th e holeshot tu rn . It wa s at th is ti m e th at Wisdom 's ext ra 10 per c ent kic ked i n, a nd he began to m ake hi s m oves on tho se wh o tried to kee p him beh ind them. Cato still held the le ad, fo llo wed by M it c hell , Chase Gamble, Brad y Orr , Co le Se lf and Crosby. Wi sdo m took Gamble and Orr before the fi rst lap was g ree n- nag ged . A s Mitch ell put Cato behin d him for the lead , Wi sdom worked on Self and Cros by. With pati ence and the slyness of a fox sta lking hi s prey, Wi sdom sli pped by Cato and beg an a relentless pursu it of Mitchell. Lap after lap , section after section, Wisdom put all his energy and focus int o taking the lead awa y fro m the Kawasaki- mounted Mitchell - but it wasn 't to be . Mitchell held off Wisdom and crossed the checkers with the mote-two win. Wisdom took second. Cros by was th ird . When the scores were added together for both motes, Wis dom h ad pr evail ed , win ning th e class for the day. Th us, his abili ty to dig down deep an d sum mon up that extra 10 per cent showed that he had the drive and desire to be a wi nner, regardless of the odds stacked agai nst him .
