McMil len was ma k ing h is return to District 34 after a long lay off last sea son . A form er champ ion , McMillen showed great speed on his Yamaha . but he couldn't keep Carlo in check . J osh Seguine also made hi s return to the distri ct a rewarding on e. S egu i n e took t he 2 -2 route a nd ea rned second overall in the 2 50cc Expert class , aboard his Honda. He was on the gas , but he couldn't hang with the veteran Coen. Leavitt went 3 -3 for thi rd overall in the 2 50cc Expert class . In the 12 5cc Expert cla s s , Motorex -sponsored Finkle took the 12 route to ta k e th e overall. He had an exc it ing batt le i n moto o n e w i th Yam aha YZ250F -mount ed Ri c h Korets k y , beati ng the veteran to ta k e the win . Dave O lsen held the lead for a f ew l a p s but succumb e d t o t he pressure of Fin kle and Korets k y . T he sound of thunder was defi nit ely in th e air a s F in kle , Korets k y an d Ol sen wer e all on th umpers . Koretsk y had pro blems and f inish ed i n the back of the pack , thus throwing away his great performance in moto one . Th e r efore , Fink le left wi th th e lion 's s hare of th e Expert purse . Olsen took second overall on the da y and collected some cash to get him to the next race. Third ov erall went to Gui Sermenach , wh o rod e consist ent ly all da y but was not a factor at the fro nt. Honda -mounted Henry Mormil e was fo urth overall , followe d by Koret sky in fi fth .
