The company s a y s that it saves half a pound over a st ock fender, and tha t ma y be t r ue, but the holes in the back of the unit make fo r a conve nient outlet for mu d and dirt to cake itse lf high up onto the fra me and in th e radia to rs of the CR. I don't know how we ll it resists scratch es , having no t c ras he d the machine , but the holes are th er e in th eory to help th e m otorcycl e keep coo l, and allowing mu d to cake in the rad ia t o r s seems to go against this goa l. Perha ps it's be st to restrict its use to hot, dry conditions. For the most part, this bike m ad e riding the variety of tracks in So uthern Ca lifornia pretty easy. If you have th e s k ills , the adj usta bili ty of t hi s Honda a llows yo u to apply them to an y motocr oss tra c k, anywhere. And if an y of th e Japanese Big Four would incl ud e fe atures like t he adjustable triple clamp , s u pe r-wid e a djusta ble pegs, billet -alum inum thr ottle tubes w ith bearings , or a ny of the o th er ideas I tested - well , I guess these aftermarket com pa nies m ight go ou t of business.
