At the e nd of laps nine and 10 , Alexander wa s ov era gg ressive a n d it cost him a sh ot at second, and nea rly his finish . "I ma de a couple of menta l errors going into 11 and almos t t hr ew it away twice - two la ps consecut ive ," Alexander said. "It ' s k ind of been off the pace a ll weekend and my bike went in qual ifying so I went on my backup bike ." That turned out to be a good thing . "I've got to say my back -up was a weso m e , " Alex ander said . " I c o u ld n ' t bel ieve it. I was a little scared go ing into it. You just don 't know a new bike. My motor had been s low all weekend . I ke pt saying it to my guys , th e y were say ing , 'No , it's y o u r drive .' And I'm like, ' No, it' s s low.' In qua lifying , the thing wa s just tying up , tying up and finally it went. It was good to get on a bike tha t wa s run ning th e wa y it sh ou ld ha ve be en." Moo re had a good bik e , bu t wa sn 't up to spe ed. Mo or e was go in g th rough tu rn 8A when his re ar wheel stepped out, th rowing him up on the windscreen . My vision is sti ll not pe rfect." Moore thought he could m ake it a race. "In t he beginn ing , ac tua lly , we seem e d to be neck- and -n ec k , " h e said. But ha lfwa y in, he found it difficul t to co ncentrate, "a nd onc e I started making mistakes - I ha d a hard time fe e ling the front, being smooth on the throttle , fe e ling what the bike was do ing - he jus t slowly went away, every turn , every straightaway , every braking a rea . It seemed like I might have had a little something for him in seven, but it really d idn 't m atter." " I think that's whe re Jimm y [Moore] saw that he was having a lit tle bit of an advantage," Parriott said. It was super smooth, no pressu re, I was abl e to keep m y he ad dow n a nd just go ." Moo re's c o ns o la tion wa s that h e took over the p oints lead. After two of 11 ra ces he holds a one -poi nt lead , 59 -58 , o ve r Ale xand er. Va lv olin e EMGO Suzuki' s Ben Spies , who wa s inju red two weeks ag o at Will ow Sp rings , finished e ig h th and fell to th ird in the po ints with 57 . Fifth went to Arclight Suzuki's Lee Acree.
