J 3 J er em y Chaussee wa l ked off w ith nearly $2000 st uffed in hi s p oc k ets after literall y coming ' from behind to win both the 125cc and 250cc Pro classes during the Rosamond riding , setti ng a pace that no ne of the other com pet itors were a ble to match . He handily won the 16 -24 d ivision and the 125 cc B class, both aboa rd his F&S Suzuk i RM 125 . Th e Pro classes belonged to Cha rlie Dunaway, another F& S Suzuki standou t. Chausee took the w in , grou nds . When th e gate slammed the dirt to signal the start of t h e si n g l e 125cc Pro moto , YZ250F- mounted Gerrit Ordelman absconded wit h the ho le s hot o ve r Chaussee , S teven Eugenio, Robbie King and the rest of the field. Chaussee latched on to Ordelman and the two front -runners were soon distancing themselves from the pack. After five laps of eati ng Ordel m an's roost at close range , Chaussee tried a tricky inside pass that ended up with both rid- ers on the gro und . Chaussee was quickly up and away. while Ordelman went from second place to last before getting his bike restarted. In a unique twist , the ra ce was ha lted at the midwa y point an d th e ride rs were lined back up in single file, with the leader going to t he back of the li ne . T he former le ader is rewarded with cas h for each pa ss mad e during the seco nd hal f of the race, and if he' s truly t h e fas test, i t w ill show . Ted Bar (V was on the gas hard, a nd he toppled local favorite Chad "Ice " Walker to take the Over 25 B class. He la ter held on for two mota wins in 250cc B competition, whi le local hero Steve J ones ran strong for second on his Honda . Not crying ov er sp il t milk, Walker spa n ke d the field in the Open and Over 3 0 B con tests . Pat Ma ssi e silence d th e 8 5 c c (12-1 5) crowd, running fast aboard hi s KX85 and best ing M ich ael Willard . However , Willard cam e back to haul hi s Suzuki big -wheel 80 in for the Schoolboy-class win . Suzuki -m ounted Lor en O 'Ca ll handled th e 250cc C class with style. Mike Morgan brought his RM250 ho me for a few po pular wins. The Sandyv ille , West Virginia, nati ve sto le off with the Ov er 25 A and Ov er 30 A ov eralls, The Over 40 class was owned by F& S Suzuki factory mechanic Ronnie Rehmert, who pil oted his RM in fo r th e old - timers' victory , beating out Yamaha-mount ed fast guy Jeff Cottrell . Christian Telk er once again walked off with th e 50cc (7 -8) win, while Egan Rosell scor ed wins in th e 50cc (4- 8) Oi l-Inj ected and 50cc (4-6) cla sses. Fas t yo ung man Robert Whi te sai led to the 65cc·class win, and Brian Bond nailed dow n the 125cc C victory aboard his CRI25. ~~ ~ w '" s at Dirt Country . The 16 - y ear-old put t he moves on the Open class, winning the race in > lC styl e. He didn't have an easy go of it, though, as Chad "Ice" Walker was also on the gas on his four-strok e KTM. Riding his trusty Yam aha YZ42 6F. Leadbea ter used smart lin es and fast r id in g to hold off t he c ra fty Wal ke r, wh o plac ed second, ahead of Ted Bair. Lead beat er had another go od ri de in the 16 -24 divisio n, but Dou g Gall was too much to handl e, as th e Pro and his Suzuki RM250 ~ Q. were a ble to fight off the ad van ces of Lead· beater's boo m ing 4 26 to tak e th e win. Gall was im press ive in the Pro classe s as well , not ching a third in the 125 cc A money class and second in 250cc A com petition, but the A clas ses belonged on thi s da y to Chris "Milk Man " Whitcraft, who delivered his goods efficiently, smoking off with both the A -clas s victo ries over a stacked field. Kevin "R eMax · Hil debrand on c e again stomped a couple of age classes. The thirty something home dealer snatched the Over 25 and Over 30 class wins away from a talen ted crew of older guys . Jeff Cottrell. on hi s Yama · ha, stomped all ove r th e Over 40 clas s. Ch ri st ia n Telker of Ind iana showed the Buckeye boys a thing or two as he ran off with the 50cc (7-8) cl ass on his KTM. ). In the minicycle ranks, Kyle Sm ith charged on his RM80 to take two 85 cc classes, while Pat "T he Master " Massie cl ai m ed th e 85cc is co ncurre ntly competing in the EA Sports Supercross series while still charging hard in local Su nday races.
