Th e eveni ng sta rted with Argyll Park quad races, an d then. in the Pee Wee ra ces, th e litt le fol ks pr ov ided some excitement. In the O pe n A co ntest, Tony So uza wo n easily, ahead of Ma rk Corsetti. Th e Open B race sta rted with Greg So rde rer tak ing the lead , foll o wed by Joe Hoogerhyd e an d Voto Be rn a les. The ra ce finished in that order. In the Ope n C co ntest , Steve Scott got the holeshot and led the rac e for the first c om er. Un fortun at el y, Scott fell, an d Ju stin Felice wo rk ed his way up usin g the outs id e to finish in fir st pla ce by about a straight away. In the V intag e 2 50-360cc ra ce, Carter Fisher got off the line fir st, bu t J eff Corza nkoff got underneath him early in th e rac e, tak ing th e lead and winn ing with a good lead. Steve Hall finished fi rst in the Vet A cl ass, easily beating Bob Ca sey an d Bo b Bacosa after a great ride. The Vet B race sta rted out with Masutoshi Tom ita in th e lead, fo llowed by Er ic Tu rner, but Turne r q u ic kly too k cont ro l of the race and finis hed first. The most excitement of the e ve ning was pr ovid ed by the Vintage 500cc and Up race . Aft er being put in th e che ater' s box for j um p ing th e start, Bo b Sca ll y, rid ing hi s T riumph, wen t on to win the rac e . Scally started from th e rea r b ut slowly and ste adily ca ught and passed each of the riders in front of him, pass- first eve nt in the return of organized mo tocros s rac ing to Distr ict 36 . . About 60 riders sho wed up for th e t w o - mot o , AMA· sanctioned ra ce, which was sponso re d by Pl an - It 2 0 00 Promotions .
