J unge took the poi nts lead in Open /A Supe rs t o c k and 60 0c c /C Superstoc k on Texas World Sp eed way 's 2 .9 -mile road ci r c u i t. Larry Denning took maximum points in Formula One , and RPM regu lar Bradl e y Champ ion banged out a name fo r himself at the National, win n ing D Sup erb ik e , Formu la Tw o Sp ortsman and Lightweight Twins . Jamie Lane led the start in Formula On e. ahead of Pet e Martins , Den ning and the pack . Denn ing quickly took second on lap t wo. and a lap late r he m ade the pass for the lea d, over Lan e , filing in fo r tu rn one . I n Op en /A Sup e rst o c k , J u nge grabbed the h ol esh ot o n th e GSX R1000 and sp ed off to a strong vi cto ry over a fie ld dominated by Suzu kis. Denn ing c ame from row four to battle Lan e for th e runner -up hon ors early in th e ra c e. Denn ing had the advan tage in the ba ck section and often led L a n e on the sh ort run out of turn eight, but Lane had a better line off the banking and into turn one . In th e 750c c/B Superst ock Expert race , La ne le d the field , ahead of M arti ns a n d S c o tt H arw e l l. In the back sec tion, Harwell pa ssed M art in s for second , and a few turns later he outbraked Lan e fo r the lead. Harw ell and Lane qu ick ly bu il t a g ap o n the pack , leaving the others to fi ght over thi r d . W a d e B u ffingt o n took third from Martins o n la p three. Two laps later , Gl enn Szarek took th ird fro m Buffin gton and held th e la st po dium spot at the fini sh l ine. Harwell took th e win and Lane fi nished second . J unge led the start of the 60 0c c/ C Superstoc k Ex p ert rac e. On la p two , the o rde r was J unge, Gregg Abbott, D enn ing and Brian Stok es. D enning pow ered his Pirell i-shod Yamah a R6 ah ead of Abbott on the front straig ht heading into lap three . He then began ch ipping awa y at the g ap to lead er Junge. On lap fi ve, Denning was only a few bike lengths b e h in d , but he cou ldn't position hi mself for a p as s into the lead. Meanwhile, Chris Ca y - lor, w ho h ad been si t ti ng i n fo u rt h th ro u gh the latter p art o f th e race, also tried to better his pos it ion late in the race . On lap five, Ca y lo r came up to sh adow A b bott, sitti ng in t hi r d. Abbott le d Caylor into th e last l ap , but Ca y lor got th e be tter d rive he ading to the fi ni sh line and nab bed th e final podium ste p . Junge held on and took h is second wi n of the day, over Den ni ng . In th e F ormul a Tw o N at i onal , Jason Peters head ed off the li ne fi rst , in fr ont of Zacha ry Lee and 17 -yearo ld Logan Young . Lee passed Pete rs in turn l O on lap one to nab first. Lee ha d th e h o rsep ow er adv antage and fo rc ed Pet ers to fol lo w h im for m ost of th e race. Filing thro ugh th e last set of turn s, Pete r s clu ng t o L ee 's ta il sec t ion and got a gr eat driv e o ut of turn 12 . He tucked into Lee' s sli p st re a m a n d tried fo r a p as s a t th e checke rs, but Lee was ab le to hold on fo r the win . Young took th ird.
