Eastern Regional 1 25cc Supercross Series Round 1 : Silverdome Travis Pastrana (1991 passes Mike Brown (1001 en route to his first Supercross title. Pastrana is the second-youngest rider to win a Supercross title (Damon Bradshaw is the youngestl. some time in the final, but second is good and this title is great. I didn't know last year during the Nationals if I could do it [wjn the championship], because that was my first time out there with them. I knew that I could do it this year [125cc Supercross] and that just made it easier. There were some guys like Ramsey and Wey who made it tough, but I really wanted it." Now, with two titles in his hands and more freestyle awards and attention than one could even handle, Pastrana looks for more. "I'm looking forward to the East/West Shootout in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to riding the 250s again. There're two titles still to get: the 250 Supercross and the 250 outdoors. I'm prioritizing for the 125cc Shootout and the outdoors right now, but I can't wait to ride the 250 class." Yamaha of Troy's Nathan Ramsey was the big winner at Pontiac, but his two wins on the season were not enough to stop the Pastrana freight train. Ramsey locked up second in the final points standings and his season was much better and a far cry from the one just a year earlier. In only his second year on the professiona I tour, the Annapolis, Maryland, resident has achieved more than most young aspiring racers can even dream about. In front of 61,728 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome, Pastrana accomplished yet another major feat - he won the Eastern Regional 125cc Supercross Championship. Pastrana finished second in the final aboard his Lee McCollum-tuned Suzuki RM125 and, along with his five other wins throughout the series, second was plenty enough to sew up his first-ever Supercross title.
