All this changed on the second lap, when Schultz took a nasty fall in the rhythm section that ended his moto. Resweber was handed the lead, and he never looked back. Patterson went on to take sec- ond place, and his 14-2 score gave him seventh overall. Russell Palmer took third in the second moto after also leaving on the wrong gate in the first moto. Porter took fourth in the second moto, and his 3-4 was good enough for second overall. Diamond Air Service's David Kocich was fifth at the finish, and his 7 -5 score gave him third overall. Todd Binns was the big winner in the Over 30 Intermediate class. Binns powered his SoCal/T& T /Gaerne YZ426F to both moto wins, ahead of Northwest Honda's Jason Nimitz. The two had a close battle in the second moto, and the overall could have gone either way. Kingwood.com/GS3 -sponsored Kevin Reid took third overall with a 4-3 score. Chris Fry finished fourth overall, ahead of Rivera Racing's Jay Rivera, who rounded out the top five. The 80cc age groups were fast and competitive as usual, with HRP/Twisted Threads/FMF's Ryan King taking the win in the 14- to 16-year-old class. Taking second was Highlands Kawasaki's Jeremy Ellis, and Digital Rage-sponsored Sheree Schultz rounded out the class. Fox/EBR/ESE rider Ryan Grantom was unstoppable in the 80cc (12-13) class. He took the holeshot in both motos and never looked back. Sunstar/Lone Star Metal Works' Tyler Schultz rode to a strong second overall via 2-2 scores. Houston Yamaha/Shorty's Daniel Garrett took third overall. JM's Cody Stark took the win in the first 80cc (7-11) moto, ahead of Superfast rider Lucas Windham and the Stubb's Suzuki of Ricky Davis. The second moto was a totally different story. With Stark getting stuck in the gate and never able to make up the ground, Windham took the second-moto win and the overall. Motorex rider Steven Ball stormed back in the second moto to take second place and second overall with a 4-2 score. Davis was consistent and took home third overall.
