he Alligator Enduro is all about
having fun. Perhaps that explains
why so many off-road riders from all
around Florida and the East Coast
head to sunny Daytona Beach during
Bike Week for the annual running of
the famous event. Even though the
Alligator Enduro is a round of the
prestigious South Eastern Trial Rider
Association's (SETRA) Enduro
Series, it's not - at least for now - a
round of the AMA National Enduro

had more fun than the other 499 that
competed, and that person was
KTM's Mike Lafferty, the winner of
this year's 51st running of the Alligator Enduro, hosted by the Daytona
Dirt Riders.
Lafferty, who is the defending AMA
National Enduro Champion and the
winner of this year's opening two
rounds of the National Series, simply
smoked the field today. Riding his
Allan Randt-prepped KTM 250E/XC,
Lafferty rode around the three-loop,
dry and sandy 72-mile course without
making a single mistake, dropping
