Suzuki jockey Asker Lamkjaer overcame his mjdpack start to take second. Dick Goldfuss powered his Yamaha four-stroke into the I"ad in mota two and held off Larnkjaer for three laps, but Lamkjaer flew by Goldfuss and continued his winning ways by taking first place.
