Stone Mountain When the pack came out of the woods, Childers had the lead and Cooksey was in second. Joey Gonzales had taken over third from Phenix, who found himself in fourth after taking the holeshot. Wilson, who was second at the start, found himself in 13th after the first lap. Gonzales was all over Cooksey at the start of the second lap. Gonzales got by him and began to put some distance on the field. Thomas had charged up to 12th by the end of the second lap. Wilson's charge had him in seventh when the white flag came out. On the last lap, he passed Travis Hansen and Fischbach to take fifth. Childers had a comfortable lead at the finish, with HHR rider Gonzales taking the runner-up spot. Cooksey rounded out the top three, and Phenix rode to a solid fourth. In the second moto, Childers picked up where he left off in the first moto - in the lead; this time he took the holeshot, with Cooksey and Gonzales behind him. Gonzales found a way around Cooksey on the first lap and set out after Childers. Adam Winniczek gated well and found himself in fourth at the start, with Wilson challenging him. At the end of the first lap, the running order was Childers, Gonzales, Cooksey, Wilson and Hansen. Fischbach, who was midpack after the start, had worked his way into fifth by the end of the second lap; he would finish there and take sixth overall. When the checkered flag came out, Childers had another moto win, followed by Gonzales, with Cooksey in third and Wilson in fourth. They finished in the same order for the overall. Phenix finished sixth in the moto, which netted him fifth overall. The BGcc Beginner class had a nearly full gate, with 36 riders all going for the holeshot. Cameron Chambers took the holeshot, with PPR's Justin Goodman and JM's John Fikaris on his fender. At the end of the first lap, Chambers had already started to pad his lead over the rest of the field. Behind him, a six-rider pack consisting of Goodman, Corey Brewer, Fikaris, Andy Nash, Jarrod Doss and Rusty Schoonover were all fighting for position. Fikaris had a bad lap and came around in sixth, behind Doss, Brewer and Nash, who was now in third. Doss made a big charge on the third lap and passed Brewer, Goodman and Nash to take second place. Nash suffered a bad crash that prematurely ended his race day. At the finish, Chambers had a nice lead and enjoyed an easy last lap. Doss held down second, over Goodman, and Fikaris took fourth. Brewer Trucklines' Brewer rounded out the top five. The second moto promised to be a show from the start.
