AMAlEA Sports Supercross Series Round 5: Edison International Field of Anaheim (Left) Kevin Windham looks back and sees Carmichael coming. Windham rode _II at Anaheim, finishing on 'the podium for the ....ond time this year. (Right) Chain pro!>lems while running second ended Lusk's evening prematurely. and 1 kind of squirreled out and lost a bunch of time. 1 mean, even though he was catching me a little but, I think if I wouldn't have made these little mistakes, it still would've gone all right." Windham wasn't too far behind McGrath when he took the checkered flag in third place, making the podium for the second time this year. "Ricky came up strong in the middle part and passed me," Windh-;jm said. "I was able to hang with him for a good while, then I really did hit a little spot where 1 got a little tight around lap 15-16. From the 17th lap on, I was feeling a lot better and actually made up some ground on Jeremy and got really close to him. Ricky wasn't at that point pulling, so I just had those two laps where I got a little bit mentally drained, but I was able to pick it up, and that was a good sign." After getting off to such a good start, Lusk was officially credited with second-to-Iast place, but he was remarkably upbeat afterward. "I was content with where I was," he said. "The pace was totally fine with me; it was actually a little slower than me and Ricky were going in the heat race. I was totally fine with where I was, just waiting for the race to kind of wear down a little bit. There were a couple of places 1 felt like 1 was going pretty fast, and a couple of places where I was being a little inconsistent, and then I had the problem. 1 can't tell you what would've happened, but 1 felt great up to that point." eN Edison late....tlonal Field of ARabelm Anabelm, Callfomill Results: Febl1lllry 3, 2001 laRocco (Hon); 4.
