more is going to be a lot.' Having that much power means controlling it and the youngest of the Haydens was learning it was easier said than done. 'One thing I need to work on is throttle control. I don't really have that much. I worked on picking it up more exiting the comer. Making the comers. II's just going to take a little time to get used to it. I never rode anything with that much power.· The CBR929RR wants to wheelie all the time and by the time the front wheel comes down, the next comer comes up. ·Yesterday I rode this and got on the 600 and it seemed like it took all day to get anywhere.· Hayden had ridden it previously. but not on a wide-open racetrack like Laguna Seca. Harnessing the power was his first priority, choosing tires came soon after, both with a long-term goal. ·One thing I'm looking forward to on the Xtreme bike is getting used to choosing tires [slicks - for the first time in his career] and using a qualifying tire. Josh Hayes Is hoping to get fit in time for the start of the season. hasn't been able to do any upper body work and he felt it as soon as he got back on a motorcycle. "I did a photo shoot to see how the arm felt after surgery. It felt weak. I got tired pretty quick in the upper body," Hayes said. "II's been two months since I did anything." The purpose of the surgery was to re-generate nerve growth to the forearm he damaged in the horrific crash in last year's 600cc Supersport race at Daytona. It was expected to return at about an inch a month, Hayes said. but didn't, so he had the surgery. With the new nerve in place. the recovery process starts anew and Hayes still ~as little feeling in the two smallest fingers on his right hand.
