Henderson's Arena Complex Dunaway's the Champ By ROPERT X. PELLETT JACKSON,OH,DEC.10 Perfectly executing an entire weekend's worth of racing would be difficult in any class, yet when considering the increased opposition and level of competition that the Pro classes provide, F&S Suzuki's Charlie "Runaway" Dunaway's perfonnance was nothing short of spectacular at round nine of the Ohio Arenacross Series in Jackson. With Friday, Saturday and Sunday's events all tallied, Dunaway's record was mind-blowing: He went a very improbable six for six in Pro class mains, against some very stiff competition. After winning the Friday and Saturday night shows, Dunaway was confident yet cautious about Sunday's racing, yet when all was said and done, once again he had two more checks in his hand, as he ran off with the 125cc and 250cc Pro-c1Z1ss wins in dizzying fashion. GP Motorsports-backed Yamaha rider Greg Rand, still struggling with a bad leg injury, was on the gas as well, atthough he was unable to topple the king of the hill, Dunaway. Rand took a full wallet home, though, pocketing the bounty from two second-piace fmishes, as he bested third-placed Chris Whitcraft in both classes. Young Scott Kuchler charged to two fifth-place postings in both A djvisions on his BWR-backed CR Hondas. An incredible performance was put on by Newark's Nathan Heskett, who sneaked his MX-EZ Uft-backed Yamaha YZ80 home first in the Mini Junior class and then backed that up with a dominant thrashing of the 65cc (7-9) class aboard his Shotgun Starting Gates-sponsored KTM SX65. Cincinnati's Walker Brightwell III was also on the gas. He blew the field wide open in the 50cc (7-8) class, whipping up on the second· graders with his mighty King Cobra. Cody Herron stoie the show in the 50cc (4-6) age group, plowing up the dirt on his Lem. Egan "Racer" Rosell rode strong for second. Marion's Rustie Goddard scored a popular win in the 250cc C Novice class. In the Over 30 contest, Richard E. Custard Jr. whipped up on the hardy field of older racers. eN What's at the leading edge of motorcycle news? Cycle News Online!
