His is achievement that only a handful men on this planet can boast of inning the World Championship of otorcycle road racing. He also won e title with such character and yle. Anyone who criticizes the cision is, as they say in grammar hool, "just jealous." about you guys going on and on whining about two-strokes and big bikes, and gushing over small bikes with lawnmower engines, a person can really only come to one conclusion: You guys are a bunch of spoiled wussy, yuppie trail riders. What the heck are you women even doing working at Cycle News? Shouldn't you be working at a Starbucks somewhere? What in the world has happened to Cycle News? Some of us still enjoy riding Openclass two-strokes, and those of us who still know how to ride them do just fine. Check the results from this year's 125/500cc moto at the Motocross des Nations. Was the winner on a 125? Why don't you girlie men take Chris Jonnum on that lawnmower bike and pit her against Rex Staten on a CR500 and let's see if she can even get near Staten's wall of roost - not to mention penetrate it without serious injury. You guys are a bunch of wussies, and wussies have no place in the sport of motorcycle racing! Mox4BK vta the Internet Kenny Roberts Jr. - Cycle News Rider of the Year. It was very encouraging to read e interview with the champ and e what a grounded and true-to-life erson he is. I'm sure his father, rother, family and friends are xtremely proud of him - as are all f the American motorcycle-racing ns. To have the World Champion ack on American soil is quite a tatement. I know it was a tough hoice with the likes of Colin dwards, Ricky Carmichael, Travis astrana and many others, but you id the right thing. We are currently working on setting up a date for the match race with Slaten that doesn't conflict with Chris' (or is it Chrissy's?) rather hectic schedule of lingerie parties... Editor We're Great Congratulations on your issue #50. It e·mailed to editor@' Ricky Rules cyclenews.com. Published letters do I just read my annual year-end issue and I am so impressed with both Ricky Carmichael and your interview. First of all, it is so great to see a 21-year-old motocross star with his priorities straight. Instead of spending his winnings on sportscars and a huge house, Ricky has purchased land for tracks, a modest home and a 'dozer! Ricky has avoided the distractions of stardom and, I'm sure, has a very nice investment portfolio for his eventual retirement. He is an ideal example for any future stars. I, for one, am impressed with his wisdom. Secondly, thanks to the skilled reporters of the Cycle News staff for the best Ricky Carmichael interview I have ever read. not necessarily reflect the position of Cycle News. Inc. I have been reading Cycle' News from the very beginning, but I must say you missed the mark with your Rider of the Year choice. What the Roberts family has done is neat, but what Travis Pastrana has done... well, it has never been done before. I am a big fan of all types of bike racing, but Supercross and motocross seem to be big in the U.S. compared to the few road-race tracks we have here. Keep up the good work and try not to forget the USA. Kenny Roberts Jr? No way. Colin Edwards won the World Superbike title on a new bike. But Joey Dunlop won three classes at the Isle of Man TT.
