Satu rday had clear blue skies a nd 80- degree wea the r , b u t Su nday brough t cloudy ski es, cold dri zz le and temperatures in the 40s - which o nly sparked the energy of man y hungry racers . Dethroning Honda rid er Levi Jacks on is wh at Yam ah a-m ount ed Jo s h Hon ea had on his mind in Sa tu rda y' s 125cc Beginner class, as Honea was only four points beh ind Jackson in the series. H onea g rabbed th e holeshot in .mot a . one and never looked back. Jackson was squeezed back to sixth place on lap one and never got through the traffic to challenge Ho nea . Brent Sandefur stepped up and hunted H on ea for four laps, runnin g bar to bar wi th him many times on the way to the checkers. On the whit eflag lap, Honea pinned the throttle an d finished two second s in fron t of Sandefur . In mo ta two, a tig ht thr ee-way race heated up be hind Honea . Leaving the l 8-rider gate in his wake, Honea opened up a I ll-second margin of victory. Malcolm closed in during lap thr ee, but Milligan wa s able to open up his adva ntage on the final lap and he crossed the finish line second . '.
